    Kibler Fowler

Hi Dave, thanks. I assume you're referencing my post. The slab I have is 3x12x5'6" and weighs 55.6#. A min. of 125 yrs. old (we stopped counting rings) and I've known this tree for over 40 yrs. 'Front yard of a Victorian built in 1887. They killed it putting in a leach field. 'About 40" at the...

    Kibler Fowler

Ditto for me except I have a 3" th. piece of northern Black Walnut from a 125 yr old massive tree with a spectacular crotch that runs half way up the blank. What I can't seem to re-find is the dimensions JK wanted when sending him your own blank. This slab is most likely going to make two as I...

Performance difference between Goex & Swiss powder ?

Just as an FYI my Swiss from graf arrived today via Fedex. Sign and show Driver license. No fingerprinting. Three days and it was on my doorstep.

Poll: What do you use your muzzleloader for?

These days I enjoy the shop time when building, looking at them on the wall which I do often, and occasionally even taking them for a run on the range on the back of the property. All my pals, who've watched them get built and seen them fired think they and I are the greatest thing since sliced...

Performance difference between Goex & Swiss powder ?

Well, you're officially my hero today. Thank you! They had a 4# min order so that's what I was going to order at $160 + change before tax. Adding another # cost me $167 + change w/tax. That looks an awful lot like a free # of powder instead of ship and hazmat fees. 😊 Thanks again !

Performance difference between Goex & Swiss powder ?

As luck would have it, I'm also shooting 2 different rifles both with .54 C weight 38" bbls. I guess I'm going to have to 'bust a move' as the saying goes. Please watch for my Go Fund Me and above all, be generous when donating.

Performance difference between Goex & Swiss powder ?

I keep telling myself stuff like that but it's sure nice to get a 'pat on the head' and a whispered 'Aw, go ahead.., do it'. 😇

Performance difference between Goex & Swiss powder ?

'Looks like an avg. price for swiss is around $31. a can. Add in shipping and hazmat and it's up to $40. per. I've always used Goex but my ancient supply is almost gone so I thought I'd switch up to Swiss but now I have a lump in my throat. I might have to build myself a .32 at this rate...

    Kibler's next gun?

Some time back JK responded to this line of query and had said it would be an English 'export' type fowler. For the colonies as I recall. He'd said it was in process at that time. I can't for the life of me find it again so (?) At any rate, I think it's a capitol idea and keep watching for it...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Thanks for the 'blessing'. I'm one of those lucky ones and I know it. 'Back the Ranger up to the shop door, load up, drive down back right up to the big shooting bench in the shade, and off I go, up to 100yds. Very lucky indeed given the constant war stories I hear anymore.

    Jack's Mountain Stock Company -videos

Thanks for taking the time to do this! 'Great fun watching his process. Mark did a stock for me a few yrs. back and the bbl/rr channel work was absolutely spot on.

Found this under my stand I just put up. What left this?

I'm thinking a couple of fully charged capacitors taped to the gable ends as a reward for all that effort.

Five pages of responses over one scat pic. You can't buy tickets to a show like this. 'Love it ! 🤣

    Dutch Wall Gun

No taker's huh? Well, after my pal waited about 2 years for the lock and stock it showed up with inlets for ramrod and thimbles. 'Not needed on the Dutch version since they used that long 'spud' welded on the barrel for an anchor with the r/rod carried seperate. So had to go with a premise...

Thanks very much. I thought all the guys out there making and building things would get some entertainment from such an oddball project.

Thanks. What a cool project that was to work through. It'll be a cool and breezy day in Hades before I'd do it again though! :)
