    TC Renegade **** Geometry Adjustment

I don't know but I was able to harden my frizzen and it works pretty decent. I used the old leather in a can trick and seemed to work! lol

    1861 Springfield

What would a decent price be for a serviceable Civil War era Springfield? I know anything that old will need inspected very closely, but even if I had to have a barrel made or lined for it I think it would be sweet to have an old one! I see them for sale all the time on auction sites and are...

    Pawn Shop Blasphemy

If the scope is mounted properly I would leave the scope on it to test loads. Not saying I would mount a scope on a muzzleloader, but if it's on there wth? Lol

Back up pistol in same caliber?

What do you do then? Lol

Petrolum products and black powder fouling....a chemical analysis.

If there are any machinists by trade out there, I have found Hangsterfers S-787 to work wonders for black powder. I would guess any water soluble synthetic vege based cutting oil will work.

Petrolum products and black powder fouling....a chemical analysis.

Was that the "Lee" stuff? I thought about trying my smokeless concoction of alox, beeswax, and 2 cycle oil in the black powder world.

Petrolum products and black powder fouling....a chemical analysis.

Burned black powder produces salts. Maybe there are internal combustion engines running on black powder? Definitely a vastly different lubrication need. Lol

Anyone have access to a Pedersoli 1809 Prussian musket?

Yeah I agree. At that price I would hunt for an original. Mid 1700's on are well made shooters as long as the rust didn't get to 'em.

Anyone have access to a Pedersoli 1809 Prussian musket?

Finding there is not much love for the Prussian muskets on this forum. I have thought about building one from parts. If you end up picking one up let us know how it shoots.

That's the plan! I also thought about one of those blank back plate locks from Chambers.

Petrolum products and black powder fouling....a chemical analysis.

It's some big word I can't remember. I do know that it will keep combustion chambers squeaky clean on engines that use oil. It is so far superior that most oil companies including amsoil won't even post test results comparing their products to redline! Lol

Petrolum products and black powder fouling....a chemical analysis.

They make it a closed hydrocarbon molecule so it doesn't have open ends that easily attach to contaminants. There are differing grades of synthetic base stocks. Redline lubricants use a higher burn off base stock designed for use in jet engines. That European synthetic oil is expensive but...

    Steel targets

Depends on how far you can shoot it from. Had a camp propane bottle almost come back and hit us from about 50 yards away.

    Why Muzzle Down?

Nobody keeps them loaded and ready? How can you expect to defend the cabin?

    Steel targets

Light a fire around the propane tank and then shoot it. That always makes for some good fun! 😂

    Steel targets

I use whatever I have laying around. 1/2" thick plus low carbon steel will last forever with black powder guns. Break out the smokeless rifles and not so much.

    Winter Shooting

I would have been out shooting in the -8 Kansas weather we have but have finally caught whatever the rest of my family had been hacking and coughing over! The wind was brutal here so that made it feel like -30. I keep wondering if I would have what it takes to live in really cold places like...

    Who rifles their bores?

Does he do stuff that big? I thought about him but wasn't sure. Thanks

    Who rifles their bores?

Yeah it might be more like 1.5-1.750" bore. The liner would be 4140 steel. I could be wrong but that thickness rating is for a cast cannon, correct? I proofed a test barrel that was 1.750" ID with a .500" side wall thickness. Material was DOM low carbon steel. They don't really want to list...
