Priming Horn and Small Tin Containers

Looks pretty good. I love the tire ashtray in your picture. My dad had one when I was a kid.

Priming Horn and Small Tin Containers

Pierre does tend to be a bit extreme. I remember salmon fishing there a few years ago and it was 115 degrees. The guy who supplied the boat and the downriggers finally said he had all the fun he could stand and we left the river for some shade and some ice cold beer. However, we did catch...

Priming Horn and Small Tin Containers

Not sure. The metal Sucrets container I worked with last week was one I have had laying around for years.

Priming Horn and Small Tin Containers

The heat around here has been terrible lately. Even though I have my own shooting range here at my home, it has just been too hot and humid the last couple of weeks to do any shooting. Thought I would make some accessories that I have been thinking I needed. I made a small priming horn out of...

    Carrying pre lubed patches

I like a loading block for faster reloads. However, I am somewhat of a pessimist and always worry about running out of reloads. Therefore I carry extra round balls and prelubed patches, just in case. I have made tins out of Sucrets cans and they work great for the lubed patches. I realize...

    Something a little Different

We cube the deer meat into about 1 to 1 1/2 inch cubes removing as much fat and sinew as possible. We use a pressure cooker following the standard instructions for canning meat included with the pressure cooker. When filling the quart jars prior to pressure cooking we add 3 beef bullion cubes...

    Something a little Different

The meat lockers here charge $100 to just grind a deer into hamburger. It is more if you want any beef or pork tallow ground into your hamburger. Things like deer sticks, sausage, hot dogs, jerky, brats etc. add around $3.50 to $5.00 more per pound.

    Trying this again.

Welcome from South Dakota. I would be interested in hearing about the hunting with the NW Trade Gun. Hunt deer with them?

    Something a little Different

I usually shoot two deer per year here in South Dakota, sometimes three if I get a license for another part of the state. My son and grandsons usually shoot another three or more per year counting muzzleloading and archery seasons. Processing costs have gone up so much lately here (around $350...

    Hazmat fees are CRAZY!

I paid the same fees when I purchased some black powder awhile ago from Travelers in Texas. It was the ONLY place I could find FFFG online at the time and I was darn happy to get it. It isn't their fault and they have to pay what the shippers charge.

Making the world a better place, one squirrel at a time.

Having lived my entire life in South Dakota, except for a year in Wyoming and 3 1/2 years in St. Louis, I find it interesting that cottontail rabbit and squirrels are not popular game animals here. In fact, I have never known local people to ever hunt squirrels, much less eat them. A few...

Thoughts on Pedersoli Lyman Great Plains Rifle Kit

Thank you for your kind words. I never thought to take a picture showing how the stain ran into the hairline crack that I never noticed before the piece broke off. Since I ordered it from a large supply house, I doubt they would say much if I notified them except for "contact Pedersoli or Lyman."
