    Places to shop in NJ

Definitely check out Dixon's. Not far off of route 78. Don't forget to look up at the ceiling as there are a lot of guns hanging from it.

There was was a wall gun at the Kempton fair last weekend. Guy watching the pieces said it was probably a 4 bore, about the size of a golf ball.

Was At The Valley Forge Visitors Center Looking At Some Original’s..

I should visit there again. Last time I only had about 30 minutes inside. It is only 15 minutes from my house also. I do remember a wall of rifles and the likes and thought the same as your granddaughter.

    Source for bulk horns?

Anybody have a source for bulk polished steer horns? Saw a giant bag at a shop and would love to buy a bag. The bag was like a "poly woven burlap kinda bag" probably 3.5" tall and weighing over 50#'s. My wife does scrimshaw, not necessarily period correct for flintlocks but that is not her...

    Thoughts on my blunderbuss

I was told the lock should be italian. Got 5# of #8 lead shot for it. Didn't get to shoot it unfortunately. Tried to get barrel off, no luck. Probably a 9 or 10 gauge I was also told. It is over .75 for sure.

    Thoughts on my blunderbuss

Nope, didn't think of that. Guess I am just shooting wads.

I will use 2f. Forgot shot at home but found some Daisy copper coated bb's at work that should work fine.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I have a TC .50 Flintlock Hawken also. To good a price to pass up, guy bought it decades ago and his shoulder couldn't handle it anymore. When I go shooting, everybody has .50 or smaller. The guys said they can tell when I am shooting the .54, said it sounds very different than the rest of...

    Thoughts on my blunderbuss

I have 2fg, 3fg, 4fg, 4fa I can use. If the weather is good Sunday, I plan to stop in Dixons Muzzloading shop in Kempton after I go to the Willy's Jeep Picnic just down the road. You can never have to much ammo or powder right? I need some balls for my new to me Pedersoli. 44 Kentucky pistol...

    Thoughts on my blunderbuss

How would wano 4fa work in it. I used it in my hawken before, seemed ok. 9 years ago I bought 4 pounds for $9.95 per at a firework convention. From what I found, it is firework powder but also used in canons. Blunderbuss is kinda a mini hand held cannon after all right?

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Hoping for some nice weather this weekend. The Hawken hasn't seen powder since Feb 2020. The other 2 haven't seen any since I got them this winter. .54 Cabela's/Investarms Hawken, .44 Pedersoli Kentucky pistol, lott reproduction blunderbuss

    Thoughts on my blunderbuss

Not exactly sure. At least .75, a penny(.75") fits down the barrel with room to spare but a nickel(.835") won't. Was sold a a reproduction which I am sure it is. Also wondering the value(obviously what I paid for it to at least 1 person, me).

    Thoughts on my blunderbuss

Picked this up a few months ago. What are you thoughts? I assume it is a shooter. Got from a guy that did reenactment stuff. How much powder would you use? Any input is appreciated
