    PA flintlock season?

I've been building points in wyoming for a few years and I'm budgeting $2000 in flights for that trip.

    PA flintlock season?

I'd love to get over and do the flintlock season one day. Might cost more than a couple hundred bucks though!

    Welcome to the forum!

    Peep/globe combo for hunting?

I just added a Lee Shaver globe and Lyman 57 SML to my Missouri River hawken for hunting. Still need to adjust the shims to get more elevation. But I'm sure it'll be a good rig.

    Did I screw up ?

I would definitely be considering the need for a Conical or saboted bullet if you want a 100 yard load. Is there anyway you can return it for another gun?

    Did I screw up ?

You will probably get acceptable accuracy with a light load between 50-60 grains 2F. At 50-75 yards that's enough to kill a deer.

India made vs Italian, USA etc, RB accuracy at 50 yds

I spoke to Pedersoli about the Indian trade gun and they suggested a .614 ball with a thin patch and around 70 gr 2F from memory.

Ye Yeah zero interest in them, I like hawken rifles and long rifles.

    Help me get started properly

I almost didn't buy a flintlock after reading about all the bits and bobs required and how this has to be right and that has to be tuned. I ended up buying one anyway and since I've found it all pretty straight forward. If I had major geometry issues it might be more challenging but most guns...

    Charleville 1777 round or sabot

I agree it does mean different things to different folks. To me a modern mountain man type is someone who will pack into the bush for a week or two at a time to hunt and explore and what have you irrespective of what they've stuffed down their barrel. It's not someone who's dresses the part...

Thanks for the help, I think I've got all I need.

    Charleville 1777 round or sabot

Don't worry we're not all triggered by words. Not sure how accurate it will be but I've thought about doing similar in my smoothbore with a shotgun wad. I say give it a try 👍

    Blackpowder hare

The first time I took my girlfriend (now wife) to meet my family dad cooked a "chicken stew". After eating it I told her what it early was but by then she had to agree it was delicious! As long as they've had a 24 hour brine no one should dislike rabbit!

    Blackpowder hare

I would be interested to see how the soup goes. Some people think rabbit and hare are interchangeable, they are as different as chicken to beef though. We don't get those snowshoe hare type things here, just european hare but they're a deep red meat and for me too strong in game taste. My dog...

No harm done, I just notice that someone will ask a question to which forum members deride them by saying the question has been answered before. But I myself have had to ask questions because looking through old threads they've yawed off in another direction and don't really answer the question...

Maybe take this to the active thread about the kodiak doubles.

She was a beautiful pup, sadly hit by a moron about a week after this photo. We bred her from my ***** to keep her line going. Now it's done. As I said it's a smoothbore so no not rifled. Yes, drop is really only one of the cons I can think of if you can call it that. Adjusting for elevation...
