Which story is most movie worthy?

I refuse to believe there is an answer equal to any of the books written by Jim Corbett. Leopard of Rudrapryag as a film would be a nail biter. The BBC did a low budget one of this but it was pretty crappy, and diverged much from Corbett's views and actions.

What happens when you don’t weed the garden,

We call them Bindii here, just pulled my first few for the summer today in my yard.

    .50 Calber for Elk?

I've not shot an elk, but reading lots of old hunting books of NZ the guys who hunted wapiti (elk gifted from TR) commented often on how they were easier to down than a red stag. I find with reds like anything, a well placed shot will end the excitement in short order.

    .50 Calber for Elk?

By a state you hunt you're referring to Montana? I've killed buffalo with 50 cal so elk should be fine.

    .570 balls in a 20G smoothy

Has anyone tried these and if so any accuracy? Can't get moulds or balls for my 20G fowler, would .570 balls with a thick patch or two patches likely give a shootable group (dinner plate) at 50 yards? Or would it likely just go wild?

    Heading out.

Best of luck mate 👍 you could also try the sister forum it's a good place for all things not flint or roundball.

    Last of the Mohicans Rifle

I have wondered, what truly represents the essence of era/period genuineness if that's the concern. Take mountain men for example Is it a guy with a gun and clothing correct down to the iron fittings and animal sinew stitching at a faux rendezvous shooting a few paper targets and then driving...

    Last of the Mohicans Rifle

I agree with that, but mention something like a pedersoli and all people want to rant on about is how they aren't PC guns. I think it goes either all one way or all the other. For whatever my opinion is worth, I think any gun that roughly fits into a period is good enough and should be...

    Finally got my first Deer

Congratulations mate, nothing beats your first. My first was almost 20 years ago and I still remember it vividly.

    Last of the Mohicans Rifle

In one video jim kibler stated none if his rifles are true to any period, they're just his general take on stylings from those eras.

    New gun options

I'm in no way trying to be rude and I did not speak with him personally, it was a lady whose name I don't recall. But after a few emails back and forth to have the correspondence stop, and then my follow up not answered I can't agree with your view from my experience. If they don't want...

    New gun options

In that case perhaps it's possible that you could get it in, I didn't think about the difference in state legislation on that end.

    New gun options

I looked at getting one through Pedersoli Australia. He had already just gone through the process of trying to import one for someone else. Kibler refused to stamp them with a serial number which means they can't come into the country. Jim ended up putting it into the too hard basket. It's a...

If it makes you feel any better, we can't get Kiblers into Australia.

    New gun options

For similar money you could also consider a Chambers which is more of a "build" than kibler from what I've seen. I'm leaning pretty hard toward one myself but the Edward Marshall or the English gentleman's rifle in 58 is the question!

The “chamber” area of a muzzleloader...

I have multiple patent breech pedersoli guns, clean them properly and you will have no issues. I would not part with mine. Q

    Coning a barrel?

Does anyone have good reference material on how to do this correctly? I'm scared of trying it and stuffing things up on my hawken, but hunting will be much easier if I don't have to use a short start for quick reloading. I've heard accuracy is not affected at all, is this correct?

    Long rifle kits?

How do they compare to Chambers in terms of work to be done?

    Long rifle kits?

I'm getting more and more interested in a kit but am not sure of which would be best. I'm after a long rifle or jager of some kind in 58" that is exclusively for hunting. I've been leaning toward Chambers, but there are multiple models so no idea what's best. The Edward Marshall looks like...
