How do I get the smell out?

That's what I was thinking Azmtnman - POOF.. Maybe it could be of help. I had the same issue with a haversack I goy at Dixon's in 2019. C. Tanner made it. Great bag but the leather strap stunk. Ya, tried hanging it outside too. Ended up putting Legal on the strap twice. Problem solved.

Kibler quick ship on the way!

Yeah, can't wait. I have a Woodsrunner I'm waiting on. I'm ok with Iron Nitrate and permalyn but want to add the Tried and True for a slightly richer finish. I have one Woodsrunner with just Iron Nitrate and it's ok but looks kinda blonde. I may or may not add tried and true to it.

Ok. It’s called varnish oil. Looks like tan paper label. Shaker style varnish, right ?

Eagle, where can Tried and True be purchased ? Not listed on Jim's site or LMF. Which of their products did you use ? I ask because I'm sure there are several and I would like to get the same finish as you. I like the image on the right. Thanks for helping. THX, Paul

Permalyn or Tried & True oil

After viewing the Kibler videos on stock finishing I was wondering about the difference in both stock color and protection in the finishes between Permalyn and Tried & True oil. I would like to hear from those of you who have used these to finish your stocks. THX

I really like the look of your rifle. The kind of finish I desire. I have a wonderment tho -- what would be the change in color if you finish in permalyn ??

    Assemble then finish?

You make bamboo fly rods ? Nice to discover another who appreciates all that the fine rod has to offer. I now only have 5 left. And my hand tied leaders are ages old and still fine. Bought an Orvis BAttenkill while onboard the USS Cleveland heading into Cambodia. Used the hell outta that...

    Rear sight

It's marksmanship. Training. Learning. A Battle Group full of practice. One shot at a time. Trial and error. Know you rifle and your load. When you can keep up with your rifle at 25. When you can keep up at 50. You can trust your sights. And your ability. Bouncing is an error used only...

    Rear sight

About the files .... that's about what I thought. I have a set of riffler's .... all in different shapes and all seem to be made for fine work. Maybe like jewelers. I'll take a look and see if one might be about right for this work. Traditional sights with that micro-V and a skinny front...

    Rear sight

Interesting solution to the same issue I have. Did you use a riffler file ? Or, how did you turn a micro-V into a notch ?

    Today's challenge.

I do believe that Barbour is well suited to the style of a country gentleman. Since my Bellstaff is now well done I will look into a Barbour. Well done Sir.
