Discharge or shoot my remington 1858?

Ooh okay man thanks. You think 454 might work okay on the remington 44 1858? Which one bullets you would recommend trying out? I ordered 454

Discharge or shoot my remington 1858?

Okay got it now! I read up on google about that. I don't have any wadding in it. Which might create more airspace. So guess better to remove the nipple and either add bp or remove it and try to get the bullet out. And if that fails i should put in more black powder to make the chamber full and...

Discharge or shoot my remington 1858?

Okay man that made me kinda worried. I don't get the thing with airspace. What's the dangerous thing about it? Higher chances of exploding? The thing is i'm pretty sure i had 30 grains in each chamber i just get paranoid because the bullet won't go in so i thought maybe there is black powder...

Discharge or shoot my remington 1858?

Not really man. The gun have to be produced before 1890 in order to be legal here with black powder charges but not these modern cartridges we use today that we just can put in the chambers and shoot even if they would be produced before 1890 containing black powder. Keeping them loaded is...

    Hello everyone!

I need to say same haha i'm from sweden i don't know all the names of parts in english barely in swedish since i didn't have my revolvers for so long time. Always wanted to get but you know our crazy laws...since they have to be produced before 1890 in order to be legal they are expensive as...

    Hello everyone!

Thanks man! Well i tried to change hammer spring in my starr 1856 but that won't help. It still jams between each bullet and i get to help to rotate the cylinder with my second hand...i think the cylinder gets into some weird position that makes it jam after the first shot. That's weird. I can...

    Remington 1858 chambers

Hey guys i got a question. I'm new to cap and ball revolvers and got a remington 44 1858 and a Starr army DA 44 1856. What i noticed is the chambers in starr revolver get smaller and smaller the deeper down in chamber you get. For example a round bullet that's 457 rolls in easily and stops half...

Discharge or shoot my remington 1858?

I just took apart and checked the screw. It's not in a very good shape, slightly a bit bent but still might work probably. I will get another screw and replace it in near future. But not sure in case it was like that when i got it or if i bent it while getting in that bullet....but anyways still...

    Hello everyone!

    Thanks man! 😄

    Hello everyone!

Yeah man! Not all of them but some parts have to be original for example i think the cylinder and barrel and i'm not sure what more parts actually since i'm new to it.

    Hello everyone!

Here are the guns i got. But the starr got some problem since it jams and the cylinder stops rotating between every bullet. And the problem with the remmington for now is in another post i made...i will get out and try it soon.

Discharge or shoot my remington 1858?

    Hello everyone!

Hey! Recently did a post but thought i would get to introducing myself. I'm a 25 yo guy from sweden. Since we got very crazy gun laws the only guns i can buy are black powder guns over here produced before 1890 since they are more really classed as antiques then weapon. I got a Starr Army DA...

Discharge or shoot my remington 1858?

Just took out the cylinder from the remington and tried pushing in the bullet more by hand force but it's rather leaving marks from the thing i push with then going into the chamber. Can that really happen if there is empty space in chamber?

Discharge or shoot my remington 1858?

The seller's guess was that they probably converted the gun to another cylinder and later on put the original one back! Not sure how right that is but if it wasn't original i guess he wouldn't be able to sell it in sweden. I mean all of the copys of bp guns here are classed as all modern guns...
