    Gun show cannon

As a Great Lakes diver, I would seriously doubt that this cannon was found in Lake Erie. Even buried in mud, there would be pitting caused by rust.

    Possible bag or

Lo! Is that modern camo that I see? And yes, I use modern accessories when I'm deer hunting with my muzzleloader, but....

    Vent pick- just how small?

That looks about 7 or 8 inches long and about a quarter inch in diameter......waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy too big. Even with a lot of grinding it might be good for a cannon vent pick.

Great hunt this evening. I laughed a lot.

It's really all about the Total Experience. I shot at a buck opening day right on a two-track about 5 minutes after I started walking into the woods. I don't know how I missed. Had time to set my trigger and everything, and he was just standing there staring at me.

    Hunting with glasses

When you hunt while wearing glasses, I suspect your biggest concern won't be with lenses fogging up. I hunted while wearing glasses for years (glasses gone after age 65 with cataract replacement lenses) and I finally came to the conclusion that I spooked a lot of deer with glints and reflections...

    German Jaeger Rifle ?

I would not replace the stock! Or, at least remove it without damaging it so that you could re-install it if you had to.

Just a simple old rifle.....Plenty of inspiration

That's a nice-looking rifle! Oh....the stories buried in all that patina and old wood! I strongly agree with your decision to do no restoration or refinishing on this old weapon!

    Anyone winter camping?

From Feb 2020. We missed 2021, but we've done it in 2022 and 2023.

    What blows me away...

We can kid ourselves, but when I Iook around at some of the things people believe, it's obvious that we are still in the Dark Ages.

    A/O's GEEZER SHOOT

A lot of wisdom in that picture.

    What blows me away...

At Martin Station, I camped next to a gunmaker of Colonial Williamsburg who makes EVERY SINGLE PIECE of a gun by hand using fairly simple tools. He was telling several of us how he does it and we were amazed.

    German caps?

No...."Rundkugel" means round ball, so they should not be fired in a blank gun! Like someone said.....BB caps.
