Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
if you will notice i slimmed up the comb area. i think they look better than the way they come, Jim is the master, but it is just my taste,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
here is the 16th Kibler that i have done. most have been SMR, this one is in 45, i just finished it yesterday, it came out nice. i zeroed it in yesterday evening, of course it shot great! i sell most of them, i may keep this one around a little while and kill a couple of deer with it.
here is a photo of the sight i made. it is just a crude rough prototype to see if it would work. the screw is an old lock plate screw with a flat base, not bevvied so the sight would clamp flat and tight. the sight was a piece of old band sawmill blade. i heated it red hot to get the temper out...

here is a Kibler fowler i done about a month ago. i have it for sale but it has been sitting dormant, so this morning i played around with a peep sight i put under the rear screw. this was 50yds off the bench. i could also hit 3x6 steel targets off hand. i might take it deer hunting Saturday...
making muzzloaders the old way? to start with they weren't called muzzloaders. because there was no other guns but muzzloaders! LOL, i would imagine they were called rifles/guns. black powder wasn't black powder either, it was just powder,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
yep, i figured if it were hotter, it would stabilize the ball better. that maybe why the .570 balls shot better because they are lighter and faster. if i keep this gun i will give it a try. also mule brain says he has a tang screw that will stick up and the slot can be used as a back sight.
