    You can get small amounts from Amazon. You don’t save much though. Lead shot is kind of like Costco shopping, you can get a pound from the Piggly Wiggly at $10 or 50 pounds at Costco for $20. I think it’s because their customer base is reloaders, so they cater to bulk buying.

    Swiss would be “like” Goex. I mean any real blackpowder and not anything modern, including blackpowder substitutes since the gun in question is a flintlock.

    I heard that modern caps aren’t corrosive. Depending on how strongly people feel about how clean a gun is, one might not choose to clean after popping only a cap, without concern for damage. I can attest to that with my Pedersoli, but that there is a thin chrome plating in the Pedersoli. YMMV

    That’s what mine look like to a greater or lesser degree. One thing I didn’t count on was when I fire my left barrel, it irritates my left arm with the ejecta coming off the skirts of the cap. So that’s normal as well.
