    Must be nice

I think each locale has its challenges. Here in AZ, I am extremely limited by fire risk. My favorite hunting spot went up this spring for a human caused fire. They won’t say what it was particularly. I won’t take my muzzleloader if there is any kind of fire risk, which is definitely limiting...

    Youtube is cracking down

I love watching YouTube and have learned a lot from the creators. I think it is very simple and there is no agenda except to demonetize everything for the creators, so YouTube can keep all the money for themselves. There really is no other comparable alternative video platform. Rumble sucks...

    Ugly Hammer

I’m not a welder, but there are so many YouTubes for everything these days, I might just study up on how to do exactly what I wanted, rent a welder, practice a teeny bit on something, and then give it a whirl. If your practice pieces are atrocious, at least you had a journey and you might have...

    Cleaning jag getting stuck

You didn’t say if it is a flintlock, but if it is a percussion, removing the nipple to allow a place for the muck to go may help?

It’s been a long while - flintlock gobbler

Most Easterns I’ve seen have chocolate brown tail feather tips is why I made the error. I guessed Texas because there are a lot of Rios there. I learn something new every day.

    First Scrimshaw Attempt

Amazing progression, I really liked the cross hatching pieces. I hope you haven’t given up on that. Definitely give it a second try with another subject that might be more forgiving if you’re wary of it.

    Thoughts when buying a gun

Lol. Originally, when I got my first Shooter’s Bible, I was salivating for the Mortimer, but I didn’t have Mortimer money back then, which was around $500 dollars I think. Every time I get a new gun, I find myself wanting a different one. I never got the Mortimer, but like most gun guys, when...

Welcome from AZ. On my brewing forum I created my name to be something_noob. Some years later, I thought better of it. Thankfully they let me change it.

    Why this muzzleloader regulations

Yeah, having to put a sticker on your shotgun, what an imposition. 😜. I mean like the OP says, regulations these days are incredibly complex and I personally have had my hunt ruined because I purchased the wrong stamp by accident, but if this keeps the antis in check, then good.

    Why this muzzleloader regulations

Looking at the regulation in your first post, I read that as no buckshot for the rifles i.e. muzzleloading rifles and modern muzzleloading inlines, your primitive shotgun is still a shotgun, so I would take that as legal for buckshot use, when hunting during the shotgun season.

    RWS 1075 Percussion Caps

No test. Someone on this forum was able to point me to something on the package that convinced me they were the same.

    RWS 1075 Percussion Caps

Now that I look at it. My question was about the “Dynomit Nobel” vs. the yellow regular, but someone was able to convince me both the green and the yellow were the same, though I still can’t remember specifically why.

    RWS 1075 Percussion Caps

Could be wrong, but I think I asked this question a couple years ago and the packaging suggests a difference, but they are all the same.

Very stuck minie ball, tried everything having to pull the breech plug

If a person ran hot wax behind the bullet, when it solidified you could try again with the grease gun.
