    Really?

You guys shocked at the asking prices for modern TC, CVA, etc parts should try restoring real deal Civil War muskets which is what I like to do. Guys are taking their cut down, beat to hell, wall hangers that were made into shotguns down off the wall and parting them out and turning a $75 gun...

    1816 springfield

It's worth more than that. Some guys still think in terms of 1980 prices and that's not meant as an insult. It's just that they haven't kept up with the times. Something dosn't look right with how the hammer contacts the nipple though. Either the nipple was broken off and the hole was rethreaded...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Well now.. I'm not finding any listed at all now. It was on sale last year for I believe, 179 but I had to wait almost 4 months to get it because they were closed due to Covid. It may have been on sale because they were dumping off remaining inventory because no matter how I type it into their...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Fixed an original Harpers Ferry Model 1842 lock I bought cheap on Evilbay. I got a killer deal on it because the bridle had a broken pin and there were 2 screws broken off in the lockplate. All better now. Just need to find all the other bits... Being on a tight budget I like to gather parts...

    Nepal Brown Bess from IMA

Yes absolutely. Loaded it with 80 grains of Black MZ powder and a .69 caliber patched ball and let her rip. No clue if I hit anything. That wasn't the point.

    Nepal Brown Bess from IMA

Sorry, it went well. I actually fired it on the 4th of July 2019. The first time it didn't go off so when I pulled the **** back and tried again I wasn't expecting it to work. It did and about knocked me on my *** because I wasn't expecting it. Cleaned it and hung it on the wall.

Help ! Newbie attempting to build an 1861 Springfield from a pile of parts

First I must confess to being a complete noob at what I'm attempting with the exception of building one of the Nepal Brown Bess kits from IMA last year. Now I'm wanting to build an 1861 Springfield rifle from a variety of repro and original parts. This project consists of a new repro stock from...

    Pietta 1858 Stainless Target problem....

Call me crazy but I believe if it was mine I'd choot it.. The corrosion isn't structural. You can see that the threads further forward where it meets the frame are clean & shiny. And it dosn't need to contain the explosion so if the bore is good and the cylinder is fine I see no harm in keeping...

    WANTED 1861-1865 Springfield stock

I know this is a tough one but I'm looking for an original or a good reproduction, full length stock for my 1861 Springfield rifle project. Thanks

    High prices of gun parts

You must be thinking of AK47 type rifles. I can't think of a single part of an AR15 that's punched out sheet metal with the exception of the magazine. I believe the real issue is supply & demand. An AR15 barrel can be had for 50 bucks if you shop around and don't care about who made it but they...

    WANTED original Springfield lock parts

Yes sir, that's what I was hoping for was that someone might have some good used original parts. The Dixie stuff is hit or miss from what I've read. Not sure who it's made by but I've read reviews that the mainsprings aren't reliable.

    WANTED original Springfield lock parts

Need a bridle and a mainspring for a Springfield lock. 1861-1890 should all be the same. Also possibly a good barrel for a Civil War era Springfield. 1861 or 1863 type.

    Cabela's and Bass Pro

Here in North East Tennessee we have a Bass Pro in Bristol and just over the border we had a Cabelas in Virginia. Now that they have merged the Cabelas is closing. Not sure if it has to do with the new proposed anti-gun crap going on in VA or just a business decision due to the 2 stores being...
