    CLA Show

I went to the CLA show yesterday in Lexington, Kentucky. How I managed to stay under $2000 budget is beyond me. I’ve never seen such artistic rifles. Meet Barbie Chambers, Wayne Estes, Ethan from I Love Muzzleloading, and so many others. Picked up a Chambers Lil’Fellers kit for wife, new bag and...

    Canoe Gun?

I have one with a 24" barrel. It is awesome in the late winter ml season where I am sitting in a box blind (not my favorite spot) with heater going for deer. But the shorter barrel is way easier to get out the windows on a deer than a 42" barrel by a lot. It swings faster on rabbits as well...

    Patch Box?

If I am being honest nothing has ever been stored in any of my various patch boxes. I guess they all for show. Literally its either in the possible bag or in range box if I need it. Now that I think of it its kind of a waste in reality but I am ok with it they look cool.

    Shooting to the left

HA HA look at the picture guys he literally has a rear peep on gun. Telling him to drift rear sight or filing it is making me laugh. Literally I don't think people looked at the gun in pics. Edited: OP added same thing as I was typing.

    How Indian flintlocks are made

When deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan these rifle could be bout for 60 dollars American. Problem is all the legal paperwork to get them back stateside the proper way. Wasn't worth it to me.

How do you load your fowler?

Man with the success from McDonalds napkins, I'd almost recommend trying the toilet paper but as rough as it is it would remove the steel of barrel in a few shots.

How do you load your fowler?

No sir 50 caliber. I tried .600 and the pattern opened up and the largest ball hit all over the place. 50 cal ball stays within that 3-4” of center

How do you load your fowler?

Its a smoothbore 62cal aka 20 gauge. 90 grains 2f a nitro card drop in 50 call ball then 4 40 cal balls. Then a shot card to keep them in the barrel. Thats it. I have a spot the deer have to funnel through theres a cliff on one side and a river on the other. To get to the beans they have to go...

If you are going to be stupid, you gotta be tough

Ahhh heck my first build a TN mt rifle I measured wrong and took out to much wood from butt plate on top edge of stock. . Luckily I was taking a class to do it with local builder. Options move but plat forward 3/8" and lose it on LOP (not option I'm 6'6") or option 2. I used a piece of copper...

    Kibler .54 eater pig

We a ton in Georgia have to shoot them around 80-100 pounders for eating. Anything bigger they are tough eating, but make ok sausage if you add pork fat to it. They aren't as fatty as domestic pigs. But these work great for my Samoan buddy who buries them in ground to cook.

How do you load your fowler?

Don't forget the buck and ball load too. Mine shoots a 50 cal round ball and (4) 40 cal round balls very well at 40 yards All will stay on a paper plate. Most going within 3-4" of center. Whats cool is buckshot is illegal where I hunt. But since the ball size meets legal requirements it legal...

    .54 for Target?

I hunt with a 54 but target shoot mostly with 32 cal at 25 yard matches and 40 or 45 cal on woods walks of 50 yard and beyond matches. For targets the 54 burns to much powder and lead. I will bring it out on last woods walk before hunting season as a tune up but thats it. For example my 32 uses...

    Flintlock Shooting as Olympic Event

As I watch the Olympics I can't help but wish they would have a flintlock shooting event. Is anyone else in the same agreement. You could have 3-position prone, x-sticks, and off-hand. A woods walk, or the various novelty targets that seem to kick all our backsides. I personally think it would...

Cleaning that little space at the bottom of the barrel

Heck- its a frontier take the barrel off the stock and stick it in the sink with hot soapy water. It will get it cleaned out without fail.
