    Caliber for a non-collector

for turning Bambi into little white packages, i would go with a .54, but if you can only have one, go with a .62 smooth. One guy's opinion... free and well worth the price :)

    Thompson Center questions

i've owned T/C rifles for the better end of a half century, and it's been a pretty good experience... a pity that they're no longer in production because, although far from HC/PC, they're a pretty functional rifle, and will shoot closer than i can hold them. so the short answer to your question...

    elk antler straightening frustration

perhaps i am woefully out of my depth, but here goes: i want to use elk antler (or deer, juts happened to have elk) for an inlay. ... but it was too curvaceous ... so i did the inevitable u-tube / google search and found that if the antler was soaked far a day and then boiled for about a half...

    KIBLER SMR

working on finishing a SMR in ash ... building a rusting box (wrong word ... you get the idea) and then i'll try a slow rust blue on the barrel) ... the Kibler kits are far and away the best product out there, and his triggers are better than any i've pulled in some years :)

To pin or not to pin a wooden ramrod?

Do you display your flintlock or other guns in your home

the ones which are displayed are, of course, unloaded. if you break into my place (a dumb idea, to say the least) you will have to cope with the dog, and then the owner after the biometric safe is opened. the nearest police officer is about six to eight hours away. i might or might not let...

Got any dumb statements by idiots?? (Muzzleloading shooting related)

i would suspect that they knew exactly what they were doing ... just because they're jerk- o leftist politicians doesn't mean that they're not also duplicitous, disingenuous and self- serving ...
