My three quarter scale Revolutionary War carriage.

Did you get the option of buying it back? At least the barrel should be still useable.

SOLD Rogers and Spencer Pistol Engraved NIB

That's a fine looking gun! Is it stainless? Too bad the 'unnecessary writing' remains. Didn't Euroarms source them from Pietta?

    ball roundness

Huh? How could it travel in a spiral??? It can only spin around its axis in a straight line from the bore. At least, that's the way it's supposed to happen. What makes you think it travels in a spiral?

    Another option for caps.

What a great idea! The next question is how well they contain the pressures developed when the main charge goes off. I'm eagerly waiting for your test results. I want a 3D printer that produces metal parts. I hear they're still kind of expensive.

    SOLD PENDING $185.00 .50 cal Hawken Ultra-hi

The next important question - what's the bore like? This rifle looks like a project to me.

    Solved the percussion cap issue.

I'm curious how they're made commercially. Do they anneal the brass sheet? If the caps aren't ending up centered, possibly the mandrel needs to have sharper edges forming the bottom of the cup, to better grab the sheet metal. The CCI caps appear to be dimpled on the underside - was there...

    .58 TC Hawken

Don't you love it when the seller says it's RARE!!! I guess that justifies the (exorbitant) price because you didn't know that (it's rare), and he does. What a goon!

    Solved the percussion cap issue.

So I took a look at my cap maker and compared it to the photos posted. They're very similar. The differences I see are that your cutting edge isn't serrated and it appears your male mandrel part fits tighter in the bore. There is the fact your mandrel is removable, something I'll incorporate in...

    Solved the percussion cap issue.

Sounds like you've got quite a customer base already! :) But I'm going to wait for your drawings, and hopefully a write-up of the nitty gritty details, hardening, tempering, etc.

What thickness copper are you using?

Could you post the details so I can duplicate your success?

Mike Beliveau injured in fall, doing OK.

Thanks for the news, Rob. You know, accidents tend to happen in the face of suppression, so I hope the legal stuff comes to a good resolution before anything more happens to your dad. We're all going to miss his videos - Thursdays will be a little more dull without him.

Advice on a Fedex damage claim?

Or have no clue that our stuff isn't handled delicately... that shippers don't really give a s**t about our prized possessions. It's a job shuffling boxes all day. How fun is that? Something like this pistol, I'd have poured insulating foam (you know, that stuff that comes in a can for sealing...

Homeowner uses muzzleloader on home intruder

My thought too! From what I've heard, if you shoot them outside, drag them in. LOL. However, in this case, all the homeowner needs to say is, "I shot him in the house, but he ran away." And I totally agree - why a search warrant for the homeowner??? Then again, it's to be expected in this day...

Homeowner uses muzzleloader on home intruder

Hope this doesn't get the 'wrong' types thinking muzzle loaders should be lumped in with newer arms. Maybe they'll realize these antique guns aren't as wimpy as they think.
