    Whitacre front sight for Zouave

I had Dan Whitacre install this front sight. Turn around time was extremely quick. The blade width is 0.08" and the distance from the bottom of the barrel to the top of the sight is 1.035". I will zero in primarily using Lyman wadcutters. Heavier Minie Balls and Round lead balls will require me...

    Navy Arms Zouave

I finally shot Lyman 575494 Minie balls today at 50 yds. I was very happy with the group. I used 40 grs of Olde Eynsford 2f.

    Navy Arms Zouave

The Minie balls insert easily with no play. A .575 Pin Gauge won't insert but a .574 Pin Gauge will. I hope to shoot these this weekend.

    SOLD Ithaca Hawken .50 cal

According to what I've read online, "It’s widely accepted that these early Ithaca rifles were the most correct, factory made Hawken reproductions ever produced, having been patterned directly from an old original Hawken rifle owned by Kit Carson."

    Zouave Front sight modification

What kind of tool would be needed to cut a slot in the front sight base to insert a blade. Sorry this is the best photo I have.

    Navy Arms Zouave

I'm going order 100 Minies from Lodgewood this week. 100 is his minimum order. I'm getting .575" Lyman Minies in 2 different styles. Depending on how they fit into the bore, I may or may not need to buy a Lee Sizing Kit for $50. www.lodgewood.com/Bullets_c_7.html

    Revolver Cylinder Loader ..Suggestions Please

I put this loader on a board for leverage and stability. Works much easier than loading with the gun.

    How Much For A Zouave?

I have watched prices on Zouaves for a couple years now. They were in the $300 to $400 range. I was bidding on a Lyman and it ended up going for $495. I recently purchased a Navy Arms Zouave in excellent condition for $599. Still cheaper than a new Pedersoli ($1529 at MidwayUSA) or a Dixie Gun...

    Navy Arms Zouave

Bought my first Zouave. Overall it is in excellent condition with a bright and shiny barrel. The front sight has been filed down so it must have been shot previously. It was made in 1974. My RWS musket caps fit loose on the nipple so I'm going to try a new nipple from Track of the Wolf or from...
