    Hunting with a percussion rifle

Lately, I carry with the gun a half ****. Years ago with a gun I have since sold, I used an empty 32 auto casing over the nipple while sitting. The case was a perfect fit and served as a safety and rain protection. I wrapped a small wire just below the rim and tied a shoe string from the wire to...

    Another Crockett Post!

I replaced my tang screw with the same size and length brass screw. I put the original screw in a safe place and now don't worry about damaging the screw head when I remove it to clean the gun. Years from now, hopeful!y, whomever inherited the gun will be able to order a replacement screw from...

    New Crocket .32 Squirrel Rifle

My only complaint with my Crockett is that the under rib and the barrel gap right at the end of the barrel. I haven't figured a way to get rid of the gap except to use glue and I hate to do that.

    How often do you shoot?

From March thru September, I try to shoot twice a week. After that, I hunt and shoot very little. During the winter our BP range is closed unless you want to hike in with all your equipment. I want to shoot at competitions during the summer but gas prices hold me back on traveling far.

    Two Feathers

I have done business with both Two Feathers and Big Sky Rambler and they are both great to work with. Two Feathers makes high quality products. And Big Sky Rambler always seems to find very desirable guns to sell. Both folks very honest.

Looks like a great early season squirrel gun, for when the leaves are still heavy on the trees. It looks like you did a great job shortening the gun.

.32 Crockett rifle cone wrench question

I have a wrench for the nipple. It is a normal nipple wrench that has the outside grinded down on the nipple end of the wrench. Someone did the grinding for me and I don't know what tool was used to do it. The end of the wrench is now small enough to fit but still strong enough to turn the nipple.
