    Which percussion ML rifle?

Try for a bulk price for all 3. As mentioned, you could sell the ones you don't like, but I suspect that, after trying them all, you will be hard put to part with any of them.

    Casting Flaw?

It looks like debris to me.

I know it was wrong, but....

Your front sight may be backwards, but what the heck do I know?

Welcome from California. Tell us what area you live in, and what your interests are, and there are lots of folk here who will help.

I know it was wrong, but....

Don't worry about it. If you hadn't bought the rifle, you would have just wasted the money on "Cigarettes and whiskey and wild, wild women"...

How long do you spend cleaning your long rifle after an outing at the range

I am usually in no rush. I try to go slow and cover all bases. Usually about half an hour per rifle or pistol. Maybe a bit more if I was having trouble with something. Get everything cleaned, then everything oiled, then everything cleaned up and put away.

Yesterday was my Blind Squirrel Day

Yep. With the price of all types of black powder items going through the roof, especially pistols, I thought I got a very good deal.

Yesterday was my Blind Squirrel Day

Nothing under the loading lever, but it has "Black Powder Only" on the flat next to it. Thank you, Hawkeye2, for the info.

Yesterday was my Blind Squirrel Day

I stopped by my local LGS to see how they were doing. Lots of bolt action rifles and shotguns, but no pistols. While I was there, an elderly woman came in and pulled a cap and ball revolver out of a bag, and after a few minutes talking with the shop owner, left with some cash. The shop owner...

    Newb question

Welcome. Where in Colorado? Check out Mountain Man store in Manitou Springs. While you are there, look into getting a nipple that takes musket caps. Sportsmans Warehouse, in Colorado Springs, and Cabelas between Castle Rock and Denver, should also have some.

Hello all or "Well, that didn't take long."

Welcome. I have always been willing to allow range members who are interested, a chance to shoot my black powder rifles. The most common reaction by first time black powder shooters is: "WOW", followed by: "That's cool!"

    Caps For Sale?

If you have any shooting buddies nearby, get together and make a road trip out of it.

Stuck ball, now with drill bit

Remove the nipple from the rifle, and take it to your local hardware or auto parts shop, and get a Zerk fitting with the same thread. Wrap a shop rag around the muzzle, and then tape large garbage bag over it. Pump up the grease gun, and if everything is fitted properly, the ball will squirt...

    Would You Buy This?

Depending on price, if I could afford one, I would buy it.

Why oh why do I ever go anywhere without a ramrod puller??

Exiting often isn't the problem. When it hits the ground, target frame, or some other object is when things get bent and broken. Like they say: "Flying is easy. It's the landings that are difficult."

Why oh why do I ever go anywhere without a ramrod puller??

I have never been to a range that allowed people to handle anything on the line during a cease fire. I have seen such things occur, and the result was usually a prompt escort to the exit, with instructions not to return. If the rangemaster was downrange, and no one was watching the line, the...
