    I say: excellent idea! What size ball will fit with a patch? What grain powder charge, and what kind of powder for priming the pan? I have a percussion Hawken, but never fired a flintlock before!

    Newbie, so forgive me if I'm not in the right spot. Found flintlock in house here in NC, trying to ID and set value. Plate reads "US Bicentennial 1776-1976 State of Franklin County of Ashe NC FL031." Barrel marked "430 CAL .45" and "ITALY BLACK POWDER ONLY"
