    Swabbing between shots

    I never swab between shots. I shoot mainly .50 cal rifle with Goex 3fff. I use MAP for patch lube.

    I have two, cap and flint, both slow twist that shoot great! Took a 3rd place with the flint at a rendezvous a few years ago when my eyes were a lot better.     H&R springfield stalker

    Yeah I have one. I use a load of 50gr of 3F with a .440 ball and .10 patch. Never shot it off a bench but it shot well on a couple of trail walks.

    I use CVA anti-seize but any type of anti/never seize will be better than just oil....

    Yeah getting back to the question I have a large bottle of MAP that I use to supply a small flask I use for patch lube.

    Spitfire nipples

    I have one rifle with a Spitfire and one with a Hot Shot. Like the others have said they work just fine but I shoot real black powder so ignition isn't a real issue. If you're shooting synthetic the Spitfire may be the best choice.

    Black powder shortage

    About the only way you might get Pyrodex to work is to drop a few grains of black powder down the bore first then drop the Pyrodex and use Black in the pan.

    Paper or steel ?

    I like a good trail walk with a variety of targets. Everything from steel plates of all sizes and shapes to eggs hanging on a string to lollipops and of course the old split the ball on an axe shot!

    What's in your powder horn

    Goex 3f I use it in my rifles, pistol and revolvers. I also have a small horn with Goex 4f for priming.
