    Striped sponge/rammer

It turns out that the rammer’s construction technique (per the 1862 Ordnance Manual for Officers) indicates that the rammer head is bored to press fit the sponge shaft and the two parts are press fit leaving 3/8 “ open space that just happens to be the same diameter as the Bormann fuse, so it’s...

    Striped sponge/rammer

I have seen sponges colored in stripes and they all seem to have rammer heads (opposite) that are countersunk or relieved in the center as if to protect a Bormann fuse. Is this striped sponge an indicator that the rammer end is designed for fuzed shells?

    Truck Gun?

Without it being capped the ride in the truck would likely shake the powder out of the primer hole (unless caked). My concern would be how to deal with law enforcement if necessary.

SOLD 1860 Army "ASM 1984" with extra barrel

A lot of errors in your response. I asked you what you sold me previously, you did not answer, had you answered, I might have been more motivated to follow your instructions. I figured out what it was you had sold me and thanked you for that sale. I would still be interested in buying your...

    Stuck Nipple

I’ve had a hard time finding liquid wrench penetrant locally (lots of chainsaw oil and other junk but no penetrant) so had to go to Amazon again - another week’s delay after the week waiting for kroil. The time consumed in waiting for shipping is really motivating me to find other measures.

Thanks Ed, as you may have noticed, I think this stuff is trivial, but when I can save time and money I will attempt to Do so. Regards, Tom KC3QAC

That’s my thought but that means the revolver cylinder. I don’t want to destroy its heat treat!
