    What happened was I'd left a patched lead ball in the barrel without a charge. I used a screw puller and co2 blowout but no solid ball came out just bits and pieces. I cleaned and scrubbed the mess out of it and noticed that shallow, smooth, rounded ridge just forward of the end of the barrel...
