All this was given to me as a gift from my brother.

Yes, I agree. Remington did it better. I just love the history of the Colts, particularly of the use by Texas Rangers being a Native Texan. I really want to find a Paterson one day. I removed the blue off of the cylinder on mine to be historically correct. I purchased an extra cylinder to do...

Any firearm that shoots a metallic cartridge is not to be discussed. One of the firearms I was gifted had a conversion cylinder. I posted the picture when I was new.

    Caps

No problem. Just be sure to follow the instructions carefully. Don’t use metal pots or utensils to grind or mix. Glass or wood is safe.

    Caps

Go to .22Sharpshooter website and purchase the cap maker tool for 49.95 and the Prime-All compound for 19.95 . It comes with instructions how to use it. Or you can simply soak red German roll caps in water, peal off the red paper and scrape 8 dots into the cap. Pack it down with a wooden match...

    Caps

Guys, for those that haven’t thought of it, You can just make #11 caps yourself. The tool is only 50.00 bucks to pay once. Aluminum cans are free. Primer powder for 2000 caps is 20.00 or just use German roll caps. I will never buy caps again. My homemade ones work great and can be reused over...

    Kerr Bullets in an 1858?

Yep, not many left though. I have mine arriving this week. They are 69.95 shipped. Not bad. Personally I think it is better than the Johnston and Dow if you don’t want to have to file your loading port and reblue it.

    Kerr Bullets in an 1858?

One nice thing about the .44 English Kerr bullet is that it chambers well in the reproduction Colt, Uberti, and Pietta revolvers without having to modify or enlarge the loading port. It was imported by the Confederacy and widely used. It is a nice heavy bullet that provides good penetration...

All this was given to me as a gift from my brother.

Here is another one I picked up. This one I am fixing up. But I don’t know why someone would buy a limited edition Signature Model Colt Dragoon and treat it like this. Probably a Civil War Reenactor or used as a truck gun is my guess. Anyway the guy at the pawn shop had no idea what he had here...

I’m not sure if this is a verboten item or not. It is too pretty not to show. It is a Colt Dragoon. But it is Commemorative with only 500 ever made. My newest purchase. 24k Gold.

Can anyone help me Identify the year of manufacture?

That is why I’m thinking it could be a distressed model. However this thing looks well used. All the numbers match so it has not been replaced. I’m thinking this was used by a reenactor, due to the amount of wear, or it was used as a truck gun, or maybe it was a distressed model as I’ve seen...

Can anyone help me Identify the year of manufacture?

Did Colt ever issue any distressed signature models? Trying to determine if this is natural wear from a reenactor or if this revolver was made to look like it’s been through war and beat to hell because the backstrap and trigger guard are damned near mint, while the rest of the gun looks like...

Can anyone help me Identify the year of manufacture?

Ok so it is a 3rd Generation Colt Dragoon then because mine does have Sam Colts name on the back strap. I think I saw some printed material in the box printed 1996, so I’d say 1996 is probably correct. I bought this gun for 200.00 cash.

Can anyone help me Identify the year of manufacture?

I picked up an Authentic Colt Dragoon today that has lots of wear. The serial number is 1312A . Can anyone tell me the year of manufacture and what series it is, and what generation it is? Thanks. First to reply I will tell you what I paid for it. Thanks!
