    Your cleaning process is good just make sure all the moisture is out then light coat of RIG . Bear grease works too, but most people get the salts out when they render it down.     Oh yeah make sure the weave between the stripes is on an angle .The strait weave is typically cheap Chinese weave and has a tendency to shred and blow apart.Liquid lubes don't seem to work as well as above lube in this load.

    Unbreakable ramrod

    The log cabin sells a 1/4 stainless rod with 8/32 threads. It also has a brass muzzle protector. A really great range rod. Most people here carry a range rod on trail walks. PS I make them for them.
