.40 caliber deer hunt

.40 caliber deer hunt
Took this young doe this morning with 60 grains of my homemade powder and a 40 cal cast pistol bullet I got for 6 cents each. The rifle is old as the hills but still gets the done. FBC- Ferryboatcaptain

Brass bullet mold from Italy
Bullets turned out ok but certainly not great. The mold I believe came from Dixie gun works many years ago. Not impressed with it at all . Bullets measured about 584 thousandths. Probably need to be run through a lee sizer to get them down the barrel. I have good luck with the Lee...- Ferryboatcaptain

Gave 10 bucks for a minie ball mold marked made in Italy. Measured with my calipers it shows to be for a . 58 caliber . Anybody have good luck making bullets with one of these? Musket cap nipple hole size ??
Bought a very nice Antonio Zoli .58 at a live auction over the weekend and noticed the nipple has a very large diameter hole compared to all the #11 cap nipples I’m used to seeing. Is this normal or has someone drilled it out to use as a reenactment rifle ? Thanks all . FBC- Ferryboatcaptain
