I had never heard of that happening, but I'll be sure not to spray my collar. Thanks for that.👍

You use that on your clothes, not on your skin. Spray your hunting clothes and let it dry before wearing. Works great when you use it correctly.

Crazy Crow non iron "Iron" cookware?

Burn the coating off in the oven. You will probably need to hit it at least 450 degrees. Let it cook at that temp for at least 30 minutes. All the paint/coating will be gone. Then season with Flaxseed oil. Rub on a thin coat and heat on the stove top until it smokes. Repeat.

I'll try the yellow bucket trick. I haven't planted squash yet. Could you replant?

    Gardening ..again

Wrapping squash stems with aluminum foil to prevent borers does not work. Tried it last year. Total fail. Also forgot to plant winter squash at the farm today. The good news is the hazelnut trees, red mulberry trees, and persimmon trees I planted 10 days ago are all leafing out. None of the...

    2024/2025 Squirrel Hunting Thread...........

Just caught up with the demon squirrels and flying monkeys. I was 15 pages behind. Anyway, sounds like Jim K was turkey hunting in my neck of the woods. I was there this week planting trees and the ticks are really bad this year. Having sprayed my clothes, I still had a dozen a day crawling...

Study: Hunters Die After Consuming CWD-Infected Venison

I used to work as a volunteer as a RSO on one of the state ranges. Even the women there were hunters. Not all gloom and doom. That 1/8th percent is a general sales tax, same as the 1/8th for parks. It has added tremendously to the land acquisition for public hunting in the state. True, they...

Study: Hunters Die After Consuming CWD-Infected Venison

Not quite as usual. Missouri has a very aggressive approach to dealing with it. The Conservation Department will send out shooters to kill as many deer as possible in an area with positive tests. It seems to be slowing the spread. They have changed the regulations in several ways to combat...

I agree, but in the end, there may be no more deer.

Study: Hunters Die After Consuming CWD-Infected Venison

CWD is absolutely a big deal for our deer herds. It appears the prion can survive in soil for many years and can continue to infect deer. It is always fatal to deer. There is a very good reason to try to control it just for that alone. This fear mongering does not help.

At best, it is an association. CJD can take decades to present, so no way to really determine the source.

    Gardening ..again

I don't like morels near enough to go look for them, let alone pay $40 a pound. I didn't bother planting today, too cold and will be cold for the next few days. I have to go back in 10 days or so to plant some trees from the state nursery, so I'll plant then.

    Gardening ..again

I planted tomatoes last Sunday and may lose them this week. I have plenty more growing in cups indoors if that happens, but it is annoying. I'm trying to get some seed in the ground here atthe farm this morning before I head back home. So far it seems I can only call hen turkeys, might as...
