    Your Flintlock History

I grew up running in the woods as a kid playing all sorts or characters. The Daniel Boone weekly show and Disney movies Davey Crocket really stuck with me. In 1976 I built a CVA rifle and managed to take deer with it but never really “learned” about “Muzzleloading” until I joined a club in the...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

@Mike in FL “Update: went to Lowes and bought a poplar wood dowel” I am not sure the intended purpose of this poplar dowel, but I would not trust it to load a PRB. You have a range rod use that in practice and use your new hickory rod while hunting. There is too much risk of puncturing yourself...

    Bending or straightening a barrel

I have only bent one straight, a straight octagon. Put it in the bench vise with protected jaws, and pushed gently in the desired direction, it does not take much to move it too much so sneak up on it is my recommendation. Old timers like my mentor, would rap it over a solid wood object (log)...

The days that I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations, I have really good days.

Saw a t-shirt on vacation that said Want to be happy? Lower your expectations, Lower… There you go! Got a good chuckle

Just a reminder,,, check your load....

I always do as well - just a habit. Maybe two years ago we assembled 7 guys for a late season hunt and I checked my load before we started our first drive, one guy said &!&$, I never seated my ball at the truck. He had just short started it then got interrupted - it can happen but man I was...

Traditional Pennsylvania hunt in the late season - anyone?

Well all, I am pushing this invitation up to the top - Pennsylvania late season is just a few weeks away. I am looking for a few hunters that can commit to hunt on Dec 29th and/or 30th. Once we have a group loosely organized I’ll pick a location as close to even driving distance as practical...
