Off topic but Francis and Alice were good friends. I have a piece of his Teflon patching that I keep as a reminder of them. Shot with Francis Monthly at the Florida Frontiersmen. We also hunted together.
Thank goodness you said that
I have found that it is more effective to break nipples loose with a standard wrench and then use the nipple wrench. Also remember lefty loose
You would be surprised (but maybe after this t h read not) how many newbies think the jags I make are too small. I have them bring their gun over if possible and run a patch down the barrel.
I think most of the shooting with traditional muzzleloaders is recreational these days. At least if you count shots fired per gun
The I only use it for hunting guys go out maybe once a year and shoot to make sure it shoots good for hunting
I maybe crazy(at least a little bit) but aren't you rapidly getting to the point where you could have a custom built gun that would meet your specifications for similar money?
How many of you have mic'd the balls after you tumble them? I have found that they are not as round as they look where the sprue was is still bigger. It just makes it harder to tell where the sprue is. That would make it harder to load if the sprue side was loaded against the barrel.
