    Agree with above, for a starter Hawken, its hard to beat a T/C for value and shooting. My first was one, and been thru others since and still have one and it shoots RB and conicals both just fine. If historical accuracy per its looks is a major concern then you might try a Lyman Great Plains...

    Boiled Linseed Oil Finish?

    Tung oil is my preferred finihs. LBO is OK if you want to spend months of labor to get a soft not very good finish. Depending on how you want it to look when done, Tru Oil makes a nice durable finish but its pretty labor intensive also.

    Rarely seen, I picked this up off Ebay some years ago for not much money. I may have seen one other copy, but its pretty rare I think. Printed same year as CK, 1958, of which have both HB and PB copies of.

    Another shipping war story….

    I shipped two modern firearms to a shop in western Montana from WA on the 5th via USPS ground advantage. One showed up in Denver yesterday and hasnt scanned out yet, the other landed in Denver today!! Denver is way past where they were supposed to go. Seems like everything goes thru Denver now...

    Anyone ever seen or used this Patch Lube?

    I have had good luck with T/C #13 for years. Cuts fouling easily.
