    Montana Heritage Muzzleloader Season

Just curious, why are the out of state hunters "POS"? I have hunted the state of Montana quite a few times over the years. I'm strongly considering the heritage season to enjoy some of that cold snowy weather while carrying one of my beloved traditional muzzleloaders. POS Hmmmm. Let's see ...

    Finishing a walnut stock...

I just completed a TC Hawken stock refinish using your described finish (1-1-1). I ran into a similar situation with my 3 or 4th coat. I added just a touch more turpentine for the final coat. It helped with curing time. I don’t think you need to do anything for a final coat. I let mine set for...

    Kibler 16 ga barrel question

How deep is a great question. I have no idea what it takes for wall thickness. I have had a few done on past barrels but left it to the gunsmith to figure.

    Kibler 16 ga barrel question

For anyone lucky enough to have in their possession a 16 ga., is there enough barrel wall thickness for a jug choke?

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Finished up my TC stock. 6 coats of a home brew finish that was shared with me. I will give it a few more days to fully cure and reassemble.

    Jugs and Balls?

I’m no expert by any stretch of the imagination. Here are my real world results of shooting RB in a jug choked barrel. 58 cal Kibler Colonial smooth rifle. First shots fired from a newly completed kit. The off hand shot aim point was the black dot on the right side of the target. All others...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Took the 62 cal Underhammer to the range for a test run of some .600 ball. 80 grains of 2F Goex and some Joann Fabric drill cloth lubed with balistol/water mixture. 50 yards. New peep sight too. Skinner Lo-pro.

    Awfully quiet over at Kiblers.

My vote is 16ga. but I'm partial to the sweet 16. When I can, I will get a 16 ga. Cherry just because I've never had a cherry stocked gun. The mountains we both hunt in are steep and every ounce counts :)
