What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

My Mule Ear hammers are being 3D printed as we read. Only 600 miles away, a weeks wait in shipping, then some clean up and off to the Caster. The Polycast material is used in place of wax. Same lost wax process. Need to find one that will do small runs for proto typing.

Waiting on the 3D printer guy to make some castable proto type hammers for the Mule Ear. Two brass and one...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

You are right, I couldn't wait to shoot it. It's been 3 years getting finished. I am shooting hardened scrap lead, and it seems to be doing fine, after going to the thicker patches. edit, 1 in 90 twist. Made for shooting hard lead with tapered paper cartridges.

Finished the rear sight, it has an elevator set screw on the inside. Shown with Merit adjustable peep. [Very Nice] Radius the butt plate and finish the barrel and it will be done. and the best part!!! Pull the gun up with your eyes closed and open them, you are looking thru the sights!

Loading paper-patched ball tail up or tail down?

I make them longer and add powder, tear of the end and load. As the powder drains out, ram them down the bore. I have done 54s, not sure how a 45 would work. Same impact as a patched ball. Read, https://rjrenner.blogspot.com/p/tapered-paper-cartridges.html
