    What should the drop at the heel be? I like that The Hawken Shop uses 2.7/8". I also like a wide butt plate with less curve.

    lead melting pots recommendation

    I also use a propane fish cooker, small stainless pan, RCBS pour, and a thermometer. Fish cooker has a pressure dial that I marked for 800 degrees. I get better fills than with my LEE bottom pours.

    9/16" is about right for a .50, I use a custom .555 and a .580 in the 54 You can sometimes find a metric one 14.5 or even a 15mm

    Chorizo has been helping me with my 24" 54 with a 1 in 36 twist. I made some of his Sheepherder lube, that stopped the leading. Been using 100 grains of T7, 3F and a 486 grain .542 bullet. Todays target in the wind and 47 degrees. bullets used, my homemade mold. A BIG THANKS to Chorizo!!

    Modern shotgun barrel conversion

    This reminds me that I have a vent rib 20 ga that I need to cut the tang off an make a breech plug. I will fit it to an underhammer receiver. I may have to try and make one of these.
