My cylinder bore 12 likes nearly the same load. I use 75 gr 3F, nitro card, 1.3 oz of #6, thin card and then a thick felt wad soaked in olive oil. I just leave my felt wads in a pill bottle full of oil. They are definitely saturated :) At 25 yards it'll pepper the head/neck area very nicely.

I scrape most off. Be VERY careful not to take wood away around inlets or you will have to rework them deeper to get the furniture to fit flush again. Then I sand the remainder. I've done several this way and it goes fast and is quite simple.

I like Loctite Professional. It dries hard and clear. I use it on self bow fixes in the same fashion you are attempting on a stock.
