The breach plug in my Ped Brown Bess Carbine is just like the one Dave has pictured. My other 2 Pedersolis have the Patent Breach. They are the Indian Trade Musket, and the Pennsylvania long gun. Hope this helps. Dave C.

where to find good stout wooden ram rods???

Too much work drilling a rod out. I use "delrin" from TOW for hunting. Track also carries 9mm (.354inch) rods in hickory, and delrin for most Pedersolis. Tracks rod shipping charges are very reasonable, also. Dave

Shooting low with M1840 musket, How To correct?

44 Dont kow how much it adds in size to the ball, but it holds the lube real good. After about 10-12 shots it does get a little tight to load, tho, but as stated in the NSSA not alowed to use patches. Some guys use tin foil. Dave

Shooting low with M1840 musket, How To correct?

I use 75 grns of 2 ff in my original 1847. I put my face on the stock, so I can see the length of the bbl. Its like looking down a rail. I shoot a .678 ball, that I roll between 2 rasps to roughen the surface, then dip the ball in 50/50 bees wax,and mutton tallow lube. Dave

    Kentucky teardown project progress

Strip the stock with paint, and varnish remover first. If you sand it first you will probably make the stock to small. Thier isn't a lot of wood, to begin with. Vinegar will work good on the metal parts. Dave

Pedersoli Indian Trade Musket unboxing and first impressions

Im working on a Pedersoli trade Musket kit, at present. I changed the Sea Serpent to a more corect one, that I got from Track of the Wolff. If you do this make sure you get the Serpent the has no lock bolt holes, so you can drill your own. Dave
