    Jim Kibler Woodsrunner

I don't mind the Kibler Woodsrunner comb nose too much. I am not a fan of Lehigh Valley combs at all, but the Kibler Woodsrunner(as opposed to the original rifle) is surprisingly close to at least two known Golden-Age Jacob Dickert rifle combs. True Lehighs are (purely to my own eye which is...

    Made the Kibler Leap

I'm average-ish at 5'9' but I like a shorter stock myself as well. Of course the old across the chest hooked in the arm crescent buttplate thing is probably why it is 13". But I also hate that form of shooting so I'm with you. 20 years ago the "SMR" shape we all know and love was my dream...

    cushion wad

So, uh... cushion wad... Your twist doesn't really matter with regard to using a wad. It's just one more thing in the barrel between the powder and the ball. Unless it hurts accuracy, no reason not to. But if it doesn't actually improve accuracy, it is pointless. Won't hurt the gun either...

    Are Shippers Targeting Guns?

All I got is: as someone who receives guns in shipment every day, I do not believe shipping employees are targeting guns.

    Goex vs Swiss

Swiss is finer powder, but Goex was very high quality. Hopefully it will be even better next year upon re-release.

    Upcoming Wave of Classics?

There are few cultural phenomenon likely to converge in the near future as the Bicentennial and Jeremiah Johnson/The Mountain men did 50 years ago. That created the boom that made the production and semi-custom/semi-production companies happen. I would say that at least my generation(Older...

    Woodsrunner

Anyone notice the soft comb nose on the stock? It ain't Lehigh Valley soft, but I was looking at a Dickert in PA Longrifles of Note this morning, and that most famous of Dickert rifles that all the parts kits are based on, and a couple others signed Dickerts have a comb very much like the Kibler...

    Woodsrunner

Ethan at I Love Muzzleloading seemed to really enjoy the hands-on in his video at Kibler's open house. This may be the one that makes me save up for a Kibler.

    Balistol questions...

If I was looking for state of the art, I doubt I would be a BP shooter. I've not experienced any rust with rifles stored wiped with Ballistol. And stank is relative. I hate the smell of BP burning. But I still keep shooting.

    Balistol questions...

It's useful stuff. I used it last night to rub back an old original finish on a kit Dickert rifle that was slathered in stain when it was put together. Ballistol and 0000 steel wool took it down to reveal fine flame. And I use it for cleaning the guns.

    Squirrel guns

Exceptions to every rule I reckon. My .40 is 15/16ths across the flat.

Fraid I solved this issue a few months ago.

First Build - Jacob Dickert .50 Cal. Transitional Period

I believe the Dickert recently featured on ILOVEMUZZLELOADING had dimples in the box. Either that one or the JP Beck. One of the two def did.

    Woodsrunner pre-orders

Boy Howdy, hobbies bleed the coffers dry! If I wasn't about to buy a particular Les Paul Standard, the Woodsrunner might get my cash too.

Newnan has definitely changed since I moved there 16 years ago. I still work at Pawn Express on Temple Ave in Newnan but drive the 40 miles home to Roanoke, AL.
