    Found some powder…kind of expensive!

Gents I try to keep on top of the shipments reaching powder houses. I post it in General Muzzleloading, the same place where this thread is. Just BOLO. I am not always buying it myself, but I check the sites about once a week. It's been almost two weeks since I posted about Buffalo Arms and...

    Vent Pick Holder

So... I have a nice .50 dandy of a deer rifle in the Bucks-ish county style. Has a vent pick holder under the cheek piece. I like it and keep a brass wire pick in it. Oddly, unlike most I've seen, I keep the butt end of the pick on the lock-ward side of the holder. I always see them stuck in...

Anyone have a source for Swiss 2f?

Schuetzen replaced Goex as Graf's house supplier as of the beginning of the year. Used to be Goex, but no longer.

Anyone have a source for Swiss 2f?

Well, never mind. They have already sold out.

Anyone have a source for Swiss 2f?

Powder Valley had some this last week. I only ordered 3f, but they had all but NullB and 4F last I checked.

    Kibler .40 SMR order

Dinna own one myself, but the general consensus is that Jim Kibler makes a straight shooting barrel. As of last year each groove was cut by a single cutting jig, one at a time, but he was talking about finding a way to make it faster and better. The rifling is about the only thing that Kibler...

    Smashing flints

All the parcel/postal services intermingle these days. I get Amazon packages from both Amazon and USPS, and an eBay package sent UPS has been known to be dropped off by the USPS. I am in good on continual text arrangement with my FedEx man though regarding the need for signatures on shipments...

    Wall hangers?

My father-in-law claims that he has never misplaced anything, but that his wife "tidies things away" all the time. :p When it comes to powder horns, all mine are slung to a length just above the accompanying bag. I resolved to have one bag and one horn for each gun. Granted, which bag and...

Shooting black powder in high humidity ?

Not sure about the midwest, but here in Alabama rust forms within two days. Which is to say "visible rust". Corrosion is a process that begins on contact. It may not be catastrophic, but it begins immediately.

    Squirrel guns

My squirrel gun is .40. I thought it was a .36 when I bought it, but it was a bit of a rural arrangement with no measurements or any such thing done when it was bought. Someone sure loved it previously. It is an iron mounted Pennsylvania style gun. What one might be inclined to call a...

    Wall hangers?

@Griz44Mag makes excellent pure lead cast balls for a very reasonable price. More reasonable than commercially available swaged LRBs. If you're gonna spend money on them I can't recommend him enough. Cartridges are convenient if one has a stock of them well made and in store. But I reckon...

How do you store your muzzleloaders?

Mine hang in the front hall on Hangers. I have two of them on one wall over two works of art, and then the wall over the chais longue holds the other three, one above the other. They have bags and horns hanging between them at intervals. My .60 Smoothrifle looks great above my wife's Bierstadt...

    Wall hangers?

I could see using cartridges for sheer expedience. I really like all the trappings of horn and such, so I probably won't be going to cartridges, but I can see the appeal.

    Horn Strap Help

Sometimes it's the simplest way. I have one horn strap that I simply cut from an old belt. All my daily belts for many years have been a simple full-thickness strap of leather and I had one or two old ones that have become horn straps, and various other leather things through the years.

    Powder in stock

Grafs was last to the party. Powder Valley and Buffalo Arms had it available a week ago. Checked Grafs at the time and they didn't.
