    Traditions Frontier Gander Combo

None of those targets are anything to sneeze at. Nice shooting. However, if you are looking for more consistency, try wiping between shots with denatured alcohol, and seating your balls to a consistent pressure by placing your rifle's butt on an analog bathroom scale. In my experience, shot to...

    Cannon found in scrap

Without all the "wow!s" I want to put in here, you have saved a nice Galbraith/Lyle line throwing gun from doom. There are a lot of example and history on line for them to read. A lot were bronze, yours appears to be iron. Again, very nice!!

    Can You Help?

I have owned and shot a wide variety of muzzle loading platforms, to include Pope rifles. To say I dislike or that other platforms be restricted, is not for me to say. Just bought my first flintlock. What do I need to take it out shooting, and what do I need to know to have a safe and enjoyable time.

Welcome to muzzleloading!! A buddy or mentor is a good idea. Most of us seem to be of the learning style of seeing it done, and doing what's learned, rather than from a book or webpage, at least to start. Muzzleloaders and muzzleloading occur at a different pace, be patient.

Any other crazy kids out there?

I can see I am in good company here. 🤣. My claim to fame was an oversized sling that I would launch potatoes and green apples during dirt clod wars. Peek up your head, one more time! Had a friend who poured a gallon of gas into a storm sewer. When he lit it, the manhole cover flew. Our...
