    My 1st Ruger Old Army

I certainly misunderstood how to take the picture. I tried a to retake it as you described, but it didn't turn out very well. I'll try again tomorrow with some natural light. I wasn't sure if there is enough meat in the barrel to install a liner, but that would be the easiest fix. Especially...

    My 1st Ruger Old Army

Didn't have any natural light by the time I got off work and finished working on the house. I tried to get a picture with a work light on a shelf in an attempt to mimic the window with natural light. I can see it, but then again I know the location of the bulge. Look by the INC. stamping on...

    My 1st Ruger Old Army

Nearly bought one years ago at a gunshow, dealer offered to hold it for me. Told him no, if it's still there after I make it around, I'll buy it. It sold shortly after I walked away. Lesson learned. This one came from Packrat, it has it's issue, the barrel has a bulge in it. I knew it when I...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Threw the tomahawk a little today. Just glad to be outside enjoying the weather. 54 degrees here in central Illinois.

    Gun Lost :’(

I've had a barrel get stuck in one place for a week. The post office is very short handed since nobody wants to work and thanks to abused welfare, those folks don't have to work. Anyway, my barrel made it, much later than it should have, but it made it to me eventually. USPS tracking is almost...

SOLD New Englander project barrel with breechplug

Price reduced to $60 plus shipping, the breech plug is worth that even if you don't want or need the barrel. Really thought someone would snag this up for a smoothbore re-bore project. I will consider trades.

    Convert percussion to flintlock.

Here you go! T/C Renegade from caplock to Flintlock Older caplock build with drum converted to flintlock, not perfect, but a very cost effective rifle for me to own.

    Convert percussion to flintlock.

Track of the Wolf used to sell T/C threaded breech plugs. I've converted a couple from cap to flintlock. The stock has to be inlet deeper for one screw. The barrel requires more work and some specialty tools. Vice, Vice jaws from Rice, a breech plug tool from T/C and a wrench to hold the tool...

    Thoughts on my Frizzen?

I've had good luck getting parts from DGW for their products, admittedly right handed. Have you tried them? You may be able to laminate a thin piece of the appropriate hardness steel to the original frizzen.

    Armadillo

George Strait is an excellent musician, one of the best of all time and I'm not a county music kind of fellow. I don't have my guitar, a log to set on or a camp fire, so you'll have to use your imagination a little and tolerate my sense of humor a lot; "Armadillo in the Morning, Armadillo...

    Public Apology

I was one of the fellows who made an offer to purchase the ROA. We agreed on price and I made the purchase. I couldn't be happier with the description of its condition. I have always wanted one and passed on one many years ago at a gunshow, told the old boy "If it was there when I made it back...

    Armadillo

My favorite George Strait song "Armadillo in the morning", I figured he was singing about being stranded in the desert or something, with nothing to eat but armored possum. Looking back, maybe I had too much Rum that night at deer camp. 🤪

Barrel Channel Issue on a New Stock

Mina brought my old thread back to life, thought I may as well post a picture of the stock with the barrel temporarily installed. Shelved the project afterwards, saving it for a rainy day. Used a little bit of everyone's advise, so thank you all!
