Just to clarify; did you load the PRB (patched round ball) with only the patch? Or did you load the PRB with all the wadding that goes into the Skychief load?

Well if I was going to stripe it, I’d make darn sure it was in a clockwise direction. Everyone knows that in the Northern Hemisphere the stripes are put on in a clockwise direction. In the Southern Hemisphere, the stripes run counter-clockwise. 😁😁😁

Lot's of great advice here. I don't go along with the herd just to go along. However, I do appreciate history and like to be historically correct as much as possible. And sometimes, that isn't always possible. So, I'll stick with a simple, dark stained ramrod.

I picked up a used Pedersoli Indian Trade Musket. If it was ever shot, it wasn't very much. The front sight was filed down. Other than that, I'm really liking this gun and can't wait to shoot it. As with all Pedersoli's the factory ramrod is worthless. So I have an unfinished hickory rod...

I shot out the barrel of a .22-250 and had the rifle re-barreled. I gave to old barrel to my friend who, in turn, gave it to Beaver Bill to turn into a tomahawk. The last photo is one of his stock tomahawks with my custom hawk.

It’s an excellent idea but seems a little out of the time frame for the flintlock. I wonder when the ladder sight made its first appearance.
