I should be receiving all the legal forms to sign today and then I’ll be heading to San Antone to receive it from the Alamo. Any tips or advice on caring for a gun 200+ years old? Product recommendations?

Any ideas on the worth of a musket like this? I won’t be able to post pictures until I receive it. The Alamo deemed it in “Good” condition out of the categories poor fair good or excellent. I am not aware of any story tagging along with it besides it was showcased at the Alamo for 40 years. But...

I have confirmed they have it and it is in their vault. Supposedly my dad put a clause in there. Waiting to see the agreement.

So far it’s been a blame match. Alamo blames the daughters of the republic and they blame the Alamo. Both entities are currently looking through their files, or so they say.

I will keep updated. As of now I have called and emailed a handful of people. Waiting to hear a response. I do have the ability to contact the CEO of the Alamo so that will be my next step.

It has my dad, his name as the donor and the town we live in. It’s clear in the actual picture. So that is all the proof I would have on my end. Just trying to get ahold of the right person to find an answer to this situation is hard

Yes that is why it seems hopeless to me. We have no paperwork on the actual transaction.
