Pedersoli ball mold - "Nominal" size ?

What's up with that? (Edit - removed this part, issue solved, problem was deemed to be stupidity~ Sudsy) I'm looking for a .310 mold and I see this - which I do not understand. Nominal like a 2x4 is really 1 1/2 by 3 1/2 ? If so how big are the balls this thing drops ?

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Beautiful 65 degree day here in the Peoples Republik of NJ, so I took my new to me Pedersoli .32 Frontier flintlock to the range to see how well it shoots. Could have done better, 8" circle of holes at 35 yards Tried 30, 35, and 40 gr of 3f Goex, 310 Hornady swaged balls, with pillow ticking...

    Sources for Pedersoli parts ?

Ordered the parts from Flintlock ETC Was going to make them myself but he got back to me just as I was sorting bits of metal with a very good price Payment by check only though, so it may take longer then the squirrel season here lasts - I may have to make a band aid one to cover

    Making a bullet board

LOL, I live in NJ where the only place to shoot is at the range. I don't even own a possibles bag (which kinda sucks) Straight from the back of the truck to the bench.

Rifle cleanup on aisle 1 !

Was working on a new load for an unmentionable today so only took a few shots with the Kentucky With a .43 ball and pillow ticking patch lightly lubed with Ballistol the first shot at 50 yards was in the 9 ring. This long heavy barrel is tough to keep still freehand and the sights seem to be a...

Longshot, but is anyone familiar with these initials on an antique knife?

The fork in the middle is a Landers, Frary & Clark circa mid to late 1800's I've seen that knife pattern before but don't know who made it

Longshot, but is anyone familiar with these initials on an antique knife?

Based on the shape of that ebay blade, that's probably a Meriden knife set circa 1920s Why I think this is a much older blade and likely a "one of" (possibly/probably fork knife set) is the stag handle was curved the wrong way, the general shape of the blade, the resin/pitch that was used as...

The engraving is crisp and well done and yes some idiot at some point tried to sharpen this on a grinder.

Rifle cleanup on aisle 1 !

Done curing. Just hit it with clear Butchers paste wax and buffed it out on the Baldor (this same machine has buffed out the guitars of Eddie Van Halen and Johnny Cash when they came in for service) The depth is beautiful Shooting it tomorrow, will report back

Longshot, but is anyone familiar with these initials on an antique knife?

That makes sense, Now that I think about it it did seem like old dried out resin. It's well epoxied now What might that silver(ish) ring be made of ? It is not magnetic at all

Longshot, but is anyone familiar with these initials on an antique knife?

Very vintage, I'm thinking 1800's to turn of the century Found nothing that helps with the initials, other than a lot of makers marks from London from the 1700's through the 1800's, all are stamps though, this is engraved The glue, whatever it is that they used to hold it all together, had...

    Need A Good Muzzle Loading Bandsaw....Hobby Type....Under 400....Best Brand?

At all costs avoid cheap Chinesium. I owned a Ryobi for a few hours once. It was so bad that it went straight back to the store. Find something better made but used. New tires and a good cleanup are cheap and very worth it. Stick to two wheel saws, the three wheelers can be difficult to keep...

Out of curiosity, if I were ever to sell it (someday I'd like a Kentucky swamped barrel flintlock) How much might it be worth ?
