    CLOSED Traditions Buckskinner Carbine.

I'm looking for a Buckskinner Carbine in 50 caliber. Would prefer flintlock, but will also consider percussion if anyone has one. I know the 50 came with a 1:20 twist for heavy conical bullets, so that's what I'm primarily looking for. Not sure if they made them in any other twist rates, but I'm...

Creating my own Traditions Tennessee Rifle

I did this with a Pedersoli Kentucky rifle. I didn't put the nose cap back on, but I might put another one on it later. I cut the barrel back to 27 inches and recrowned the muzzle. I really like how short and handy it is. I'm sure your rifle will be perfectly fine as well. This used to be a...

SOLD .44 Armi San Marco Walker

Is the top barrel flat marked Colt? I have a very early ASM Walker that is stamped like that and I would like to find another one.

Starting to look for a flintlock

    Flintlock Rifle Flash Hole Placement

Of course a well tuned lock will give faster ignition. That's a given. But, the question wasn't if the lock is well tuned, it was touch hole placement. My custom built rifle with a hand tuned Siler Deluxe lock definitely is much faster than my Pedersoli factory stock flinter. Touchholes are...

Starting to look for a flintlock

I had Mike Roby build my 58 caliber poor boy flintlock. He's not on the forum here but he's good friends with @AZ Muzzleloaders This guy builds some amazing guns too and his turn around time seems to be very reasonable. https://www.facebook.com/Kashtuk.Bow.and.Gun?mibextid=ZbWKwL Here's...

    Flintlock Rifle Flash Hole Placement

This ^^^^^^ Enjoy the rifles your amazing wife bought you! They should be fine and perform well for you. I have several flintlocks from custom fabricated to cheap kit gun. Powder position in the pan, over touch hole, below touch hole, powder in the touch hole, etc, etc, makes no discernable...

    I've screwed up....

Approximately 5 to 10 grains should be good. You might have to do it a few times. I use a bent paper clip to help push the powder towards the bore. It's slow and tedious but it works.

    I've screwed up....

The bolster and breech plug are assembled in such a way that you have to remove the bolster from the barrel before you can unscrew the breech plug. It sounds simple, but if you do remove everything successfully you're likely to have a terrible time trying to get everything realigned to put...

    Thompson Center Hawken percussion rifle

Glad you got it sorted out!!! That's great news.

    Thompson Center Hawken percussion rifle

Don't try to remove the breech plug. The easiest way to get it out is to shoot it out. Unfortunately I have had to do this myself. Remove the nipple and trickle in about 20 or 30 grains of powder, replace the nipple, cap it and shoot it. Problem solved.

    Help identifying this Traditions rifle

No, I can't find anything other than the post with the pictures from the graybeard forum. I found pictures from a Navy Arms rifle... looks identical. Apparently these are very rare and the owners don't sell them. I'm seriously thinking about taking my chances on buying it. Hope you don't...
