@poker I believe the wood to be Beech based on some internet research on what type of wood Tradition is using in their kits.

I tried pillow ticking in both blue and red stripe, precut patches (.015) and denim, my .50 likes denim the best. Every gun is different so YMMV but, as @cynthialee stated, do not use anything synthetic and as you stated, try it all until you determine what your gun likes.

I’m at a loss for words….an absolutely beautiful creation. This is truly a work of art!

Here you go…there is some slight pitting in the bore, no rust or flaking. The “rust“ you see on the nipples is surface….it’s not on the cylinder. Also, if you think you’re serious about the gun we can FaceTime and I can answer any questions and show the gun via FaceTime.

Give me a bit….I’ll take other photos of the bore and post. This is my first attempt at bore photos, using my phone is not working too well. The rust around the nipples is surface rust….I’ll get a better photo of that as well.
