    .50 Calber for Elk?

@Stony Broke I’ve had the same experience. Last year while on a weekend management hunt I took five whitetail In two days with my TC Hawken .50 using PRB. This year at the same ranch I took one, the next day I shot a spike in what I thought was my normal spot. The short summary is I did not...

    Traditions Trapper Lock Question (percussion)

Well, to follow up from earlier today, the information provided by Traditions Customer Service was spot on. It took three attempts at heating and forming the lever arm on the sear, followed by reinstallation and testing. Now it functions as it should, nice trigger pull weight when unset (still...

    Traditions Trapper Lock Question (percussion)

I am in the process of dry fitting a Trapper kit and am having issues with the trigger/lock assemblies. After going through all of the adjustments on the lock and trigger per Traditions instructions the gun functions as follows. The hammer goes into half and full lock as expected, no issues...

    Stock Finishing Question

@poker I believe the wood to be Beech based on some internet research on what type of wood Tradition is using in their kits.

    Patch size and Materiel

I tried pillow ticking in both blue and red stripe, precut patches (.015) and denim, my .50 likes denim the best. Every gun is different so YMMV but, as @cynthialee stated, do not use anything synthetic and as you stated, try it all until you determine what your gun likes.

    Stock Finishing Question

Looking for thoughts, opinions and ideas. I recently purchased a Traditions Trapper kit and want to do something to try to make the “select hardwood” stock look a little better than just using a stain and tru oil. I’ve done a small bit of research on “tiger striping” the stock by either burning...

SOLD ASM Colt Walker Engraved Version - SOLD PENDING FUNDS

Here you go…there is some slight pitting in the bore, no rust or flaking. The “rust“ you see on the nipples is surface….it’s not on the cylinder. Also, if you think you’re serious about the gun we can FaceTime and I can answer any questions and show the gun via FaceTime.

SOLD ASM Colt Walker Engraved Version - SOLD PENDING FUNDS

Give me a bit….I’ll take other photos of the bore and post. This is my first attempt at bore photos, using my phone is not working too well. The rust around the nipples is surface rust….I’ll get a better photo of that as well.
