Yes,the indigenous people are allowed to hunt native species without permits, not so true for the rest of us

Back up pistol in same caliber?

Yep. This. All I've ever carried as back up for pig hunting

Could a round ball about .001 inch less than bore diameter be used?

Have actually tried this with lubed .495 "chewed" rb in my 50 cal as a quick to load finishing deal. They seemed to load easy even though they miked at .505 after " chewing " and shot accurate enough for what I needed. Didn't shoot enough of them to come up with much other information though

    Hunting stipulations?

Best muzzleloader for an older guy

I'll second the TC Seneca as being quite a nice, light rifle. I'll be buggered why anyone likes heavy guns. I'm even considering lopping a few inches off my rocky mountain big bore to drop the weight and improve the balance.

    The experiment.

Lovely. We've been living off of pulled kangaroo leg from a cull permit hunt for the last 2 days, with plenty for another 2 to 3 days. We're starting to hop around and scratch ourselves....😅

    .58 Caliber hunting load advice

His ball should be around 280gn. I'm actually surprised at the velocity out of that short barrel and low charge. Makes me wonder what my rocky mountain big bore gets with 110gn

    Another smoothbore whitetail

I'm somewhat inspired to get old Gerty out and try for a feral goat now !

I suppose that includes Australia and Britain too ? Just because we can't run around with ARs and pack pistols in public doesn't mean we aren't allowed firearms lol. I can't believe people still think that 😅😅😅
