    My finished Kibler SMR

Well, as RMH said, I believe every piece of wood may be a little different. But as far as my process went, I started with two coats of Iron nitrate, heated after each coat. Then I started with the T&T Oil. At first, I cut it with mineral spirits on a piece of scotch brite. I probably applied...

    My finished Kibler SMR

Thanks. Yeah I felt like it was a nice touch. Kept it simple, but just enough of a radius that I could practice some Inletting.

    My finished Kibler SMR

The lock is not terribly hard to take apart. I am a mechanic, so I do have an edge there so to speak. But I would follow along Jim’s YouTube video closely, and take your time. And I felt like the Jax Black was extremely easy to apply. All my parts have 3 coats, but rubbed back to my liking with...

    My finished Kibler SMR

I just wanted to share my Kibler SMR that I finished up about 2 months ago. I finally got around to getting some better pictures. It’s a .40cal with a Fancy Maple stock. I finished the stock with Jim’s iron nitrate solution, and Tried and True oil varnish. I tried my best using bone black...

    Stock Discoloration During Cleaning

I had something similar happen twice now with my Kibler SMR. Only mine is a black streak. I’m not sure if it’s the bone black I had a hard time applying/curing, or if it’s just fouling/powder residue running down. A little mineral spirits on a soft rag took care of it, followed up with some...

    Progress on my Kibler Woodsrunner

I’ve seen that tool used for incised lines before. Is it a type of checkering tool? Where would one get one of those?

    Ballistol.............

“Cures fits, warts, freckles, coughs, colds, runny nose Guaranteed not rip, run or snag Make conception a wonder and childbirth a pleasure” I use it all the time. Very versatile I think. And as someone else mentioned, is smells like “gun stuff”, so you learn to love the smell in a sense

I’m curious if they do have a Hawkin rifle in the works, if he would make it percussion 🤔

    Shooting Rest?

Exactly what I did. Leg of a pair of jeans, only I just used zip ties. Works great. I also do have the first one the OP pictured and I like it

Really what does it matter? This is just an Internet forum…if it helps the man’s business, good for him.

Curious, How do you clean your Pinned barrel Rifle or Smooth bore?

Really any automotive store should have small funnels just under 1/2” .32/.36 could be a little harder to find

Curious, How do you clean your Pinned barrel Rifle or Smooth bore?

I didn’t think of it till now…I’ve seen it mentioned, but very little. I’m going to start using a small funnel for when I pour my hot soapy water. I’m usually not concerned about the small amount of water spilt, but why not use a funnel. One less thing to be paranoid about.

    Oldest photograph of a dog.

I like watching how people, all people but most times “non dog people”, act around dogs. And 9.999/10 I’m on the dog’s side.

    Barrel lug

It’s a two part epoxy. For me, yes it’s usually absolute last resort. BUT, it does have its uses.

    Barrel lug

Well this was too big of a hole. Not just elongated, but vertical as well. With the stock on, I had movement when I squeezed the barrel and stock. I figured I had nothing to lose, being that the stock is supported by the barrel. Not the other way around.
