    JB Weld temporary sight attachment

If done correctly, JB weld will be a more permanent bond. I would use something else for a temporary bond.

Black powder specific gunsmith in Northern NJ area

Thanks. Thankfully I’m a Harley mechanic. So I enjoy working on things and learning. But I couldn’t imagine less mechanically inclined people getting into this hobby, with no one to turn to. That would be very frustrating and eventually not worth the trouble, depending on the situation of course.

Black powder specific gunsmith in Northern NJ area

Morning, I’m from Sussex County. I’ve done some searching myself, and up here it’s even a challenge to find a gunsmith in general. I’m right here in the tri-state area, and smith’s in NY won’t even look at my stuff due to the legal complications. Most projects I’ve been learning to do on my own...

    Kibler Woodsrunner Assembly Progress

I just watched a video Jim Kibler has on scraping. Is this any specific type of steel? Or any thin scrap laying around will do the trick?

Do you mix it in a bowl and apply to the patch material to let dry? Or apply a drop or two before shooting?

Kibler SMR 40 caliber put through the paces!

Just curious…is that February the time frame they gave you? I called earlier this week and she told me roughly 2 weeks. But if it’s February, I want to jump on that. What grade wood did you order?

Another Kibler SMR question on grade

I plan on it, I was just curious if that’s the general guideline. I may have to splurge for the Extra

Another Kibler SMR question on grade

Hello all, In the near future, I plan on getting myself a Southern Mountain Rifle kit from Kibler. I think I’ve settled on .40cal, and maple stock. My question is…I’m partial to these thin stripes as pictured on one of Jim’s rifles, as opposed to the “thicker” stripes you often see. Is this...

    Mould or mold?

“Mould” just seems too fancy for my taste. What really grinds my gears is when folks say “Hawkens rifle”

    Roof Sheathing Lead

My scrapyard charges $2.50…seems like a lot, but I stocked up a little cause I’m always nervous about their supply drying up

Left eye dominant, right hand dominant?

I am right eye dominant. However, as I get older, I developed an astigmatism in my right eye. I thought I needed to switch kinda like you’re saying. But my corrected lenses/glasses fix that issue. But my other problem was, I’ve always shot with my left eye closed. This too was becoming an issue...

    What are your favorite targets?

There are some websites that sell AR500 plates of all shapes and sizes. I think the prices are SOMEWHAT reasonable, considering how well they hold up.

Casting for 1st time. Do I have it all?

I get my lead from a NY scrapyard…not saying there ain’t no law, but maybe you need to find a different/smaller place

Not a flint, but I still think I caught a good frame of my Walker breathing fire.
