I have a P53 and 1861 I hunt with. Taken a handful of deer with them and regularly ring a 36×36 gong up to 400 yards. Combat accuracy at its finest.

Rifle muskets are capable of long range target work. Man sized target work that is up to 600 yards. Historical targets were very large.The NSSA doesnt practice historical musketry, a pity really.

Castor oil for long term, olive or almond oil short term. My wife has a ton of it laying around from her pregnancy. Used it for stretch marks. I've started using Sno seal to lube my bullets and the bore. It's all natural and costs LESS than bore butter

Water pump grease the stock channel. Don't be afraid, apply liberally. Soap and water in the bore, tooth brush for nipple, bolster, natural lube bore, check in 2 days for rust, lube again...done.

Nice Todd Watts P53 that ive lost interest in. Rifle has been full length glass bedded and interior of the lock polished. Bore is spotless and Sn puts it at 1975 production. Stock is flawless and a nice light tan colour. Pictured bottom Will trade for Pedersoli or orginal 1861 1855 Rifled...

An early production P53 Enfield ive had for many years and may hunting trips. Ive full lenth glass bedded it and it will hold a 3 inch group at 100 with 60g of 3f OE. This rifle has progressive depth rifling and shoots .55 pritchetts very well with a still charge of 68g of 3f Goex. I reccomend...

After dissasembling and comparing both of my unbedded Parker Hales made in '75 , ive come to the conclution that the bedding job is AS BAD, IF NOT WORSE THAN ITALIAN REPROS. Italian anything is bad enough but they realIy dropped the ball. I smoked the barrels to see how they fit and compared...

I may have to try that. I occasionally shoot 2-300yds for kicks but i mainly hunt with my enfields. I could load a roundball to start and if i need to reload, a minie.
