    When I got my .45 cva mountain rifle kit in 1981, there was a big bore rifle kit next to the one I bought. I still regret not spending the extra dollars for it ... nice pick up!

    Speaking of ball bags...

    I had the same question. I just got a .54 renegad. I'm not using my cva .45 mountain rifle deer hunting, but I still carry a .45 backup pistol. I sanded my little patched ball loading board holes larger so the .54's will fit, and left one hole for the .45 patched rb.

    The black powder gun I will always keep is the CVA Mountain Rifle 45, that I put together back in 1981. 4 deer the last 4 years. Nice rifle. Good shooter. Good luck with yours.

    when I use # 11's in a revolver , I only fill every other chamber or use the revolver as a single shot.

    years ago i used #11 percussion caps on a 1851 navy colt. i pinched the caps so they would not fall off. a few chain fires later my revolver is now a wall hanger.
