    .45 cal "Bore Buttons?"

Where can I find pre-made wool-felt wads that are true .45 rifle bore size? Those I have purchased are for pistol and rifle and they fit loosly in the rifle. I dont want to make my own.

    A Question On Cleaning

What is your technique for cleaning and protecting the nipple threads and flash channel on guns like the Great Plains Rifle and T/C Hawken?

50/50 Dawn dish soap and water patch lube

Wow, a lot of snarky know-it-alls here who know everything about the subject and dont want to read yet another thread on it? Well why dont you just skip it? Just sayin. I just saw the video myself and the host said it was just reported to him and he thought he would try it. Sorry a couple of...

    A controversial topic...

I dont mind the odor at all but the fumes make my sinuses burn. I still use it anyway.

    Purge the butter

"Bore Butter is not the DEVIL, but who knows what is?!?!" This is true. It really all depends on how, when, and on what that you use it. Don't like it? Then dont use it! Like it? Help yourself! One thing we should all be pretty much agreeable about is that seasoning is a myth. I just had to...

    Bore Butter ingredients

On April 11, 2004, Roundball wrote the 3 most important aspects of rust prevention. #1 Completely clean. #2 Completely dry. #3 Completely lubed. If all 3 are done, Bore Butter will prevent rust, as shown by my several BP guns and our hot humid summers. Not a spot of rust to be found. I am...

Got any dumb statements by idiots?? (Muzzleloading shooting related)

Almost every time I shoot where others are able to watch me load and shoot, it is typical that someone will start a conversation. I welcome it because I love talking ML to people, especially those who are unfamiliar with BP shooting and guns. It's nearly inevitable that during these...

    Goex Products

I wound up with 20-some pounds of Schuetzen and Goex which, by the way, I can't see the difference in, 2f and 3f. Probably have enough powder for 2 lifetimes now. I dont give a rat's buttocks what Goex ever does or doesn't do. Still have 3000 caps so that's probably 4 lifetimes worth. Really...

Thompson Center Hawken hurts my face

Hold on a minute. The T/C Hawken has a crescent butt plate on it. Any kind of recoil pad or spacer will be difficult to mount. The renegade and Hawken are two different stocks. The Hawken crescent butt is intended to be mounted out between your bicep and your armpit, not in on your shoulder like...

    Trade whiskey

I just flat dislike the taste of whiskey and burbon. Id rather have a cream sherry or blackberry brandy. Just my 2 cents worth.

Your Fav. Vegetable Oil for Making Lubes

Of all the different oils, Crisco, Corn, Canola, Olive, EV Olive, Peanut etc. etc., Im wondering, what is your favorite to use in making mixed lubes and why? What are the properties of the different oils that you are aware of?

    Dumping Ballistol and Gun Oil

People panic when they see the words "black powder" and "petroleum products" in the same paragraph. I believe this was caused by companies like T/C and CVA because they sold a lube product and put "do not use petroleum products" in their literature. Also supposed black powder experts publishing...

    Dumping Ballistol and Gun Oil

I use a water/Ballistol mix to swab and/or quick clean the bore. It's mostly water. I use 99.9% Iso alcohol to swab and remove gun oil rust prevent from the bore before first shot of the day. To each his own.

    Dumping Ballistol and Gun Oil

For those of us who are not terrified to put gun oil and the like in our bores, there are a few products Im aware of that work for keeping rust at bay. Sheath/Barricade we know about, Hoppe's gun oil, CLP, and G96 gun product we know about, and the last and most current in the non-gun products...

Blue jean material for shooting patches...........

Old blue-jeans makes some of the worlds best char cloth. I make it and give it to my bushcrafting friends. It's too thick for roundball patches.

    Proper powder loads

Frankly Miss Scarlet, I dont give a damn if any powder is "wasted". I use the highest charge under maximum that is accurate. I want to smash shoulder bones, not break eggs and clay pidgeons.
